“Same thing happened here in Missouri. Sarah Steelman was the true Conservative candidate but lost in the primary. Why? The GOP establishment wanted to go with a Washington DC hack.”
Errr, the GOP primary VOTERS made the decision. I hate these comments that make it sound like it wasnt decided by voters. It was. And yes, the establishment candidate might get more money, but that never sways informed voters.
I’m sorry the Demo won and I’m sory you didnt put the other candidate up there.

Technically speaking, you’re correct. Sarah lost the primary. But why? The establishment wanted the RINO, the establishment was not going to help Steelman at all. Kit Bond himself even turned his back on her because Bond is not Conservative...he wasn’t as governor and he hasn’t been as Senator.
Still, the voters could have ignored the establishment and voted for Steelman. But that is the fundamental problem here in Missouri, mainly in KC and St. Louis. The establishment is filled with moderates and RINOs. I am workig on trying to change that within the system.
The so called Young Republicans here in Jackson County are more worried about their monthly meetings at the local tavern and having the establishment speakers come in and babble than they are about the actual elections. That sort of attitude has to be changed and changed quickly if we are to throw off the RINO establishment.
Jackson county has to change the leadership at the top of the party. The Republicans didn’t even field candidates in some races, including my state district. The dem won by default. I tried, along time ago, to run for that very seat and was told by the man still at the head of the Jackson County Repub Party that I would not get their support because I hadn’t “paid my dues” yet. In other words, it’s not who is best qualified but whose turn it is this year. Until that man is ousted, nothing will change and KC will continue to elect dems to city, county, state, and fed offices.
It’s a lot of work but I know Conservatives exist in KC because I am one.
