Goodbye, ya'll...

Well you folks, I recently passed the 10 year mark under this screen name and was here for a while before that under another screen name.

I love you all and will miss wasting my time here.... But that is what it has been, a waste.

Our once proud nation, today admitted that it has become a pathetic bunch of losers who are no longer proud to be Americans,

I have written here and spoken to friends and associates that; I don't fear an Obama presidency, I fear a fellow citizenry who would be so pitiful and wanting and niave and avaricious that it might elect someone like Obama to be POTUS.

So I shall find some new way to spend my time, money and energy, and hopefully it will be in an arena that is more effective in defeating the virus of socialism and/or "pure" democracy.

You folks are great and I admire your points of view...but we have failed to a degree that is far beyond where I thought we could go...

Our Great Country needs to develop a new faction that has greater integrity and commitment, and failing that, it is done...

I pray that I am wrong...but you know that old discription of insanity....

Best to you all and I hope you make a difference but my faith is wasted.

Wonderful point that begs it’s own question. How long might Free Republic - and other ‘free-speaking’ forums be around. . .

Remember friend that God is still on the throne. Many Christians around the country have prayed countless hours over this election. While I am disappointed at the results, God will answer these prayers His way and in His timing. I believe it will be to give us an even better result in the future than we could have hoped for in the present.

Keep your faith and trust in the Lord Jesus Christ, keep your chin up, live out and speak up on conservative values that reflect Biblical principles, try to live a holy life, and continue to pray that God has mercy on our nation.

I know I’ll be spending a lot more time in the Bible and in prayer - and this is more powerful than anything the opposition can muster.

God bless & keep fighting the good fight of faith - we will come through this time intact and alright. America is worth it!

I agree. I have loved this place but when I think of all the hours I spent defending George Bush - our own man in Washington, I realized that we do not have the ability to work as a team and support, defend, help our leaders. All we do is destroy the man daily.

A total waste of effort, with no chance of success.

We have democrats that never destroy their own. If they take a hit in an endeavor, they do not waste time criticising their own, they just go and move forward where they can. Therefore they are flexible, realistic, efficient, stong and ALWAYS MOVING LIBERALISM FORWARD like a big oozing blob. Punch it in one spot and it just oozes itself somewhere else.

Look at what they have done - they have moved into the school systems all over the country and are training the next generation, rewriting history, corrupting from within. They have been corrupting our financial systems, sapping the wealth of the nation into their hands right in front of us making the taxpayer bail them out.

On and on - just a big old blob of liberalism creeping ever forward in America.

And what are we doing? Criticising every move of our president, withdrawing support, issuing demands. Nothing else.

Who between the two above wins? The blob.

Coincidentally, I was just thinking, a few hours ago, that I had been here for a little more than 10 years and that it’s time to change my screen name. That probably means starting a new account. But that’s as far as I will go. Free Republic is my refuge, my sanctuary. No one has ever invented a better forum format than Jim Robinson’s. I lament the fact that we can no longer post entire articles, but that’s reality. The good people of FR are very dear to me. I’ll stay, as long as there is a Free Republic.

If Obama gets his way, not long but don't forget there are a lot of us out there. Obama will get some push-back before he makes us go away.

The people have spoken. They want Communism. Now we shall see if Communism can stand on its own without those willing to support it.

There are two classes that make it work: Producers and takers. If the Producers with no incentive suddenly join the ranks of the takers and demand the government take care of them, the system cannot hold up to the overload. Time and time again the Marxist model fails in history.

What if all the producers simply refused to produce anymore and demanded they take care of us? Push them and push the Marxist model to perform as promised, or fail hard. Soup and bread lines and the whole nine yards showing the joys of Socialism.

That’s the way Reagan did it. Bankrupted them. Marxism failed the test. We can accelerate the failure. Once those revenue streams dry up, they’ll have to keep dropping the tax brackets to “chase us” downwards until there is a general revolt by the electorate who suddenly realizes this ain’t gonna work.

Right now, we the producers are keeping them in their dream world and enabling them by going along with the present system and supporting the non-producers.

I tend to agree with you. Yes Obama is scum but I'm actually more angry at the idiots who voted for him. A pox on these people. And this includes some relatives and friends (now ex-friends). I consider the people who voted for Obama traitors. Scum even. Yes they are pitiful and I just wish that it were just they who would suffer. As for my relatives who voted for Obama. Well they are now on my *hit list. I've let them know how disgusted I am with them. I've removed all the Obama voters from my will. I'm a man of means so this will inflict some punishment. If they outlive me it will cost several of them over a million bucks. I encourage all Freepers to do the same. Never give up. Crush your enemies. Show no mercy. Make them suffer. A pox on them all.

So, you are faithless because your fellow conservatives did not come through for you? And because of the outcome of this election you’ve decided to abandon a resource that is home to a tapestry of conservative voices that has been silenced by the MSM? Just when our conservative base needs to form a more unified front (without compromising ideological convictions), you’re going to high tail it out of here?

I would say that an American (true American) can be independent AND part of a body of believers, if you will, at the same time.

I’d encourage you to reconsider this decision because it reveals a deeper problem in your thinking.

The members of Free Republic, and what we stand for and represent are precisely what the liberals are not. We are not a collective. We share differing views and beliefs, and yet, agree on any number of issues involving our nation which helps to support and move our cause forward.

I hope you’ll reconsider. God bless you.

Took up rug-hooking when Clinton won, the first time. . .think it may be time to go back; or maybe just read ALL the 'classics'. . .or. . .Well, really, have to say, feel at such a loss; not sure what to do. . .

Feels like we are just living out, 'America's long good-bye'. . .and it is painful and sad.

I feel petty depressed to, and am sick to death of any more election talk. I think we all are. It seems we’ve been in perpetual election mode for 8 years now, with these last two being disappointing beyond pale.

In fact the past for years have been disappointing if you count the lack of action by Bush on so many issues.

But I’m sure after a good rest, a good break from all the BS, we will all return to fight another battle.

"Hope you find a Positive outlook again someday."

My OUTlook is still positive... the emphasis being on OUT.

Our candidate folded his tent tonight saying; "my former opponent and future friend."

If Obama invited himself to my house tomorrow or anytime soon (as president elect) I would say: "No, but thanks for asking."

P.S. Good luck with the fairness doctrine, I would not be surprised to see it extended to forums like this one under the new regime... Don't forget Pelosi with a greater majority, Reid with a greater majority and of course Obama.

I have no negative feelings towards FreeRepublic, its management or its members...it's just that I am going in search of a conduit that may be more effectual.

I've thought the same thoughts more than once, but I realize my time isn't wasted here. There are people here that know something about everything, and there are people here that are willing to discuss off beat ideas with me. Many are obnoxious, but so are others outside FR. I haven't had any words hurt me yet. I believe Hanity, Rush, Anne Coulter, and others frequent here and pick up ideas. How neat is that to discuss something tonight and have Hanity talk about it tomorrow? Admittedly, I sent mountains of info to these people and Hanity is the only one that ever mentioned anything I said, and that only rarely.

Stop and think about it. Without us, you will watch American Idol, or Dancing with the Stars and your brain will turn to Jello and you will wonder why you were ever upset with America.

Take a break, but you WILL be back. It's like a drug.

My understanding of what FR is all about is not “freeping”.
It’s news.

For me it has always been like a news funnel and sifter that brings in information from all over and that gets fully vetted by the independent thinkers and investigators.

It’s a grass roots sort of a place where I can vent AND become fully informed at the same time.

However, I’m sure the left loves to hear stories like this one about how freepers are just going to just crawl away back into some hole with their hands over their ears.
Don’t be the icing on their cake.
