An Historic Election
self | 11/04/2008 | self

In an historic event today, the United States elected its first illegitimate President. The President-elect, whose parents were never legally married (and whose father abandoned the poor strumpet and her child when his son was only an infant), sets a glorious example to the youth of the world. Shack-up, cohabitate, whatever – it does not matter. Any children you produce, no matter whether you are married or not, can now dream of becoming President. The stigma is now eradicated.

All those women who once hid behind a scarlet letter can now proclaim that their marital status – or lack thereof – is now trivial. What a glorious day!

All those men who may have never met or even known of the existence of their children can now celebrate. And they need not worry; for the government will be there in their stead, providing guidance, love, and the all important welfare check.

All of you children out there who never knew your fathers can now rejoice. You have been liberated.

I do, however, feel sorry for the clergymen whose function of performing marriages may no longer be deemed necessary. Yet another group to add to the unemployment rolls.

The “make love not war” immorality of the ‘60s has risen to the pinnacle of respect. Let us all raise a toast to Barack Obastard.

Flame away if you like, but I think we should at least give him a chance.

Sorry, you don't give a rattlesnake a chance.

For the first time in my adult life; I am ashamed of my country.

Not ashamed. Never ashamed. A little embarrassed perhaps that somebody that nobody knows who they are or what they think, or that has only appeared lately on the national stage with no particular life achievement... might become President... yah, that's a little embarrassing. But I'll never be ashamed of my country.

I'm not sure if you're being sarcastic, but it absolutely was about race, for liberal whites.

I liken the election of Barack Hussein Obama to the monorail effort in Seattle. Liberals knew it would be very expensive, that it would have very limited effect. That it would ultimately fail.

But it made them feel cosmopolitan. Supporting it made them feel like sophisticates.

That the first African-American (half white but no one seems to notice that) President has a name that sounds like it came from Kenya is a bonus because it shows how world-music we are in our tastes.

I mean, do you really think this was about his qualifications? Because he has none. So what's left but the celebrity appeal of a cosmopolite.

Yep, I was using heavy sarcasm. It was all about race. It had nothing to do with competency.

I wore the uniform. I have foreign conflict medal, among others. Embarrassed, yes. Ashamed, yes. Proud we could hurdle racial line, yes. On 911, could not believe we were attacked on our soil. On 11-4-08, can not believe America elected someone with these credentials. Also can not believe W. did not produce a protege with a solid footing. May god bless us all, everyone.

I don’t know what to do now. What do I do. I can’t even believe in my country. I have no country.

I agree about Hamilton. In that case, however, he would have been the first illegitimate President.

Mr. 0bama is also the first President born outside of the continental United States and the first President with a Muslim parent.

Perhaps its time to reincarnate the Mayflower and traverse another direction.

My family too has been in America even before it was the United States so I understand where you’re coming from.

I am contemplating moving out of the U.S. ASAP.

I am considering Switzerland or Australia.

I’ve been to both, which sounds better to you?

There is plenty to dislike about Obama’s politics, but his parentage is something he had no control over. He is a once-married man, which is to his and his wife’s credit. This personal attack is not useful and only sounds desperate and hateful.

If I weren’t in an absolutely fighting mode, I’d go to Oz. But none of my ancestors ran when there was a country/king/territory to fight for, and I won’t either.

I will stay here and see that my children and grandchildren have as much homespun advice as I can give them.

The least free people in a free society are those who have sworn to defend the constitution.

May God help us all.

The commentary was more about our culture (or lack thereof) than about Mr. 0bama. A few decades ago it would have been absolutely scandalous to elect an illegitimate President. Today, that illegitimate status has become unremarkable and even commonplace. As I said - The immorality of the ‘60s has achieved the pinnacle of success.

Why would you bail out now, when America needs you the most?

Perhaps it’s time to gird your loins and fight like your entire heritage was in jeopardy.

My husband, son, daughter and grandsons have fought for your right to bail out. You may do so with my blessings; remember, too, that I’m here, still fighting for your right to exit, Stage Right (or Left.)

Exactly what about his record, his alliances, his allegiances or his plans give you any reason whatsoever to believe he’s somehow not going to be a radical Marxist/pro-infanticide/anti-energy/anti-success leader?

I think this is why we’re here in the first place, and there’s no place else to go.

We took our ball and went home when it came to the godless NEA indoctrination centers called public schools, and we didn’t confront them, instead we homeschooled and sent our kids to private schools, AND paid for their failures and now we have these young voters that was the difference in this election.
