“That the media cover-up worked extremely well. Extremely well.

I am also afraid that the media spin will go on and on, no matter what mistakes he makes, no matter how many terrorists he invites to the Lincoln bedroom, no matter how he compromises our security -— the media will cover for him”

Today I cease to be an American. I have nothing in common with those idiots who would vote Obama, and they appear to be a majority.
I’m merely someone who lives in this place, and hope that my time passes before the this mistake yields it’s poison fruit.

Isn’t it amazing. JFK fought the communists. Now his daughter and little brother help elect one president.

It’s sad watching my country die.

Decline? We don’t decline, my Aussie friend. This country needs an enema, and Obama is the Ex-Lax. The U.S. had a temper tantrum tonight. We’ll get over it. The novelty of Obama will wear off sooner or later. The same thing happened with Deval Patrick here in Massachusetts. There was a great feeling of hope when he was elected our first A-A governor in 2006, in part on his soaring promises with a veto-proof State House. And what has he accomplished? Nothing. Obama will try to accomplish, and he probably will get things done, but if he misjudges this result as an electorate eager for socialism instead of a referendum on Bush or the novelty of seeing him elected president, he’ll be this country’s first and last black president.

Feels like that scene in Star Wars Ep III where Palpatine takes over.

I suppose if this country is dumb enough to elect this bastard, I suppose we deserve him and the misfortune that will rain down on us.

You do not need to cease to be an American, FRiend. Those who would vote a Socialist into the White House ceased to be Americans (if they ever were) long ago.

It remains to those of us who have read and understood what the founders intended to carry on and ressurect our Country, as God so wills, but we have had that task ahead of us regardless of who the winner of this election is.

If I may add another reason, personally I think an important one.

7. The American people are for the most part conservative.
They just got tired of George Bush and the Republicans
Bush did not veto a single appropriation bill during
his first term in office. Also, Bush and much of the
Republican part establishment just were a bunch of get
along, go along let’s be nice to the Democrats. They
did not have the fire in the belly to win. The Democrats
did.

Thanks for your thoughts, Perahelion. I was sitting here thinking of a title to a thread .... something along the lines of “Alas America, What have you done?” Now there are good optimists on these boards that belive it’s not over yet. I’d love to be one as I usually am an optimist but realistically, it’s over.
Today as my daughter was voting, she told me about an airhead girl that came skipping in wanting to vote for Obama Biden. She was corrected that it was Barack Obama but she exclaimed “No, I’m voting for Obama Biden, you know, like the sign”. It would be funny if it weren’t so sad that these Obamabots don’t have a clue to the real character of the man they just elected President of a country that was once the envy of the world. We must pray, hang on and plan on taking this great country back before it is totally ruined. I feel that Sarah Palin will be a big part of that plan in the future. Keep us in your thoughts “down under”. Your country has always been an ally and a good friend.

All I can think of is that we live in such a rich country, where no one ever fears or is made to deal with the consequences of their actions, that people think there are also no consequences to electing a man like this

I believe you are onto something here. With the exception of our elite Military, nobody in America younger than about sixty has ever had to break a sweat over anything more serious than his/her personal problems.

It is inconceivable to most Americans that evil exists, or danger lurks. They neither remember nor understand the Cold War; they have never seen a serious economic downturn; they do not know what socialism is or why it is evil; they have wholesale forgotten 9/11, a scant seven years ago, or worse think it was just a government plot; they are so busy enjoying their freedoms, they think they are effortlessly and forever free.

Yeah, we will need history to deliver us a severe rebuke if we are ever to become a serious nation again.

No.
Those of us who are “old school” are outnumbered. There will be 20 million new naturalized Democrats in the next for years. At least 20 million.
Our schools are run by libs, who are turning out mush headed socialists.

America is gone, and I don’t identify with this place, these people.

Grieve tonight. And, tomorrow morning, get back up and begin the fight to take this country back.

she will be back in 2012 when the socialist has bankrupted the nation and given in to all the terrorists.

Honestly, I hope there's something left to recover.

it’s a little old, but still relevant — regardless, it’s a good read.

You hit it on the mark! We WERE hijacked and it will be awhile before we realize it! Hopefully, one day soon, when we accept what has happened, we will pick ourselves up by the bootstraps and start over. And the first thing we must do is kick every RINO out of Congress...to be replaced with conservatives, period.

“You are not the only one. I am in a state of disbelief right not. Obama has more character flaws than any other candidate who has ever run for prez. Yet, the electorate doesn’t seem to care.
McCain, a national hero, is losing to a marxist black man. Wow, how America has changed.”

This wasn’t about McCain. It was about Bush and Republicans in general. Obama won by virtue of not having anything to do with Bush and not being a Republican. It wasn’t an intentional vote for socialism. I really feel that most weren’t paying enough attention to what Obama was saying to know what’s in store. When they find out, Republicans will be back, and maybe this time with even more of a libertarian stripe and a lot more sucess in progressing with our agenda.

This is not a loss, but merely a setback.

For the life of me I can't see why America has chosen a multicolored socialist ahead of a proven war hero and patriot.

The answer is easier than you might think: too many people who you would normally look at as traditional, taxpaying, family-oriented Americans voted along with the Democrat base of athiests, abortion enthusiasts, condom-throwers, gold-chained union thugs, welfare grandmothers, Boy Scout-hating lesbians, hand-wringing college professors, parasites, losers, and goofballs. They did this out of ignorance and stupidity. Hope that explains it.

LH

“If ye love wealth greater than liberty, the tranquility of servitude greater than the animating contest for freedom, go home from us in peace. We seek not your consul, nor your arms. Crouch down and lick the hand that feeds you. May your chains set lightly upon you; and may posterity forget ye were our countrymen.”

— Samuel Adams
