An additional idea: the MSM loses money on its news shows, but adding the networks together, they still dominate and thus influence too many people in ways we don’t like. Most of us already don’t watch the MSM news shows, so we can’t withhold our viewership to make a point.

We CAN withhold our viewership of their regular programs, though. And they are what pay for the news shows. So if we stopped watching our favorite shows on NBC, CBS, ABC (and admit it, we DO watch some of them), that viewership would go down as well, and thus further affect the MSM’s ad revenues. We can’t starve them out, but we can surely make them go hungry.

The loss of every thousand households costs them money, as they have to reduce what they charge to advertisers.

If enough people organized to do this, it would have an impact. And it’s something we can all do right from home. The time to do it would be during Nielsen sweeps weeks, when viewership and ad costs are determined.

When my paycheck gets smaller as a consequence of increased taxes, I'll compensate by dumping DishNet and buying fewer DVD/BluRay releases. Starbucks? Bye bye. VerizonWireless...fewer minutes, less services. We watch less than 3 hours of "over the air" TV in a given week. Typically a new episode of ER (last season running now) and local TV news.
