easternsky - from your homepage:
*** Mrs. Tiggywinkle met me in northern California at a In and Out burger in 2004. I gave her some Bush posters out of my car. ***
Oh my goodness!!!!!!!!!!!! It’s YOU! Now just how neato is that?! So good to ‘see’ you again - I had no idea you found your way to Free Republic and yet, here you are. :o)
Please add me to the Atlas Shrugged ping list. Thank you.
Add me to the Atlas Shrugged ping list please.
Thanks for that.
Please add me to the ping list.
I think you'll find that is fairly common. Ayn Rand apparently hated Libertarians, even though they shared a great deal of her ideals.
Personally, I think a fusion of the two philosophies get closer to describing reality than either do separately.
You’ve all taken up residence in Galt’s Gulch. Welcome! :)
Add me to the list too, please.
RE: “Isnt this what this thread is about? not buying from pro liberal places?”
*************
Yes, it’s true they offer many liberal items, but they offer everything under the sun, right-wing included, and I did not like what was available on the Atlas Shrugged site. If CafePress was devoted to leftist items only, I would’ve avoided them.
Of course, in general I agree with avoiding “liberal places.”
You've been added. :)
Just ordered a couple of decals myself. One for each car!
JB —sounds good to me —please add me to your ping list!
Welcome to Galt's Gulch! :)
Democrats have been engaged in a “work and production” slowdown for years in order to crash the economy. All over their blogs. They have driven the economy into the dirt.
We can do the same to them, and drive the Obama Marxist regime into bankruptcy.
Just make the minimum tax bracket that you can afford for 2 years, save, save, save, and make minimal expenditures.
“As it appears that Obama has won this election,”
Reject the premise in hand. Fraudulently Stolen by the largest Democrat vote fraud in history.
Obama outspent McCain 4:1, benefited from voter fraud, and had 9 out of 10 journalists working for his campaign and he didn't win it by a land slide? If any one of those advantages were taken off the table Obama would have been sent home crying back to Indonesia.
The money won't stop now. Voter fraud will now be a constitutional right or something. That leaves one thing: infiltrate the media.
Back in the mid-1990’s a friend of mine, who was an apolitical music reviewer, said that he never saw such intolerance as exhibited by the editor of the college newspaper. The paper was all left-wing prattle. But he also added that they hadn't hired any Republicans as none had applied. In his words “they're all out starting businesses or whatever”. So we make the country work while journalists serve as full time propagandists for the forces of evil.
People have said in this thread that they'll stop doing the hard work and that they'll take a menial job or farm or be a bum. Be a journalist and start informing the public.
We honor, rightly, a young person who joins up and fights for freedom with a gun. We, ourselves, tend to work away at actually adding to the GDP. We don't give a thought to professions that shape public opinion—that is below our pay grade. Yet this Republic, we all know, is to be lost from within, not from without. And it will be lost when people don't know what it is they are losing and who is taking it and when they don't think it is worth fighting for.
So here it is: there is no Galt’s Gulch, and if you shut off your part of the economy then it will go to China or India. Starve the beast? The beast will borrow against your grand children while they nationalize your 401K. Infiltrate the media and start reporting who, what, when, where, and how. Ten serious journalists could have stopped Obama's campagin dead. Stop the post-modern, relativistic prattle and the he-said she-said style of reporting. A sort of, kind of conservative news channel and talk radio is not enough. We need to infiltrate the AP and be the one to file the stories to begin with. We need to buy up local papers and pour a big can of America into them. If you think about it, wasn't that what Mrs. Rand was really doing when she wrote her book—she was informing and influencing people and what, fifty years later, we're here quoting her even though not 1 in 10 here are objectivists or whatever.
Best Post of the Night PING!
