Get over yourself. It didn’t begin with George W. Bush and John McCain and it isn’t going to end with Barack Hussein Obama.
It’s been going on for years and even Ronald Reagan had a big fat hand in it. Either learn Spanish or Congolese or get up and do something.
So thank YOU teg_76 for doing nothing at all.

I think Michael Savage nailed it when he called McCain “the Willie Lowman of politics”. The MSM nurtured McCain for 15 years, building him up just so he could run and get trounced. And the GOP fell for it hook, line, and sinker. In many ways McCain is a great American, but just doesn’t have what it takes to run a winning campaign. As you point out, he is off base on many issues—ultimately, I voted for him ‘cause he wasn’t Obama.

McCain might have pulled it out if he had come out and opposed the $890B bailout. Instead he supported it and, for a chaser, wanted $300B to help deadbeats stay in their homes. After that, he really deserved to lose. Both he and Dole ran awful campaigns. The only way the GOP has a chance, however slim, is to stop running senior citizens and start running someone young and vibrant.

"Demographics is destiny .. "

You got that right. As a building contractor in California I can tell you that my business has been seriously impaired by illegal immigrants coming here. My wages have been lowered by at least 40%. My health care costs have TRIPLED in the past 5 years, the state of California has been decimated by illegals. The public schools once were among the best in the country, now almost dead last. Why? If you put a handful of non English speaking students in a classroom they drag down the whole class. They have destroyed the hospitals, prison system, and on and on.
I knew it was over for his country about 5 years ago. I was sitting in the local mall food court watching the families going by. You would see maybe a handful of white couples with one, maybe two kids going by. Then families of Mexicans with 3,4,5 kids walking by.It was obvious to me what the situation is--we are being quickly overrun and will be the minority within 10 years...a no brainer. Please don't take me wrong--I am not a racist--I love all God's children and find most of the immigrants here as very pleasant, fine outstanding people. We simply cannot change the demographics so radically and not expect a radical change. The state of California has gone bankrupt providing schooling, health care, social services, ect to them. Its pretty much over out here, we simply cannot have so many takers and fewer and fewer providers paying the way. This is what is coming to the rest of the nation, it is too late to stop now--
Demographics is destiny ..

Honesly, GWB has been a disaster as CINC. We came this close to losing Iraq because he listened to Rumsfeld and gave our commanders enough troops to hold Iraq, but not to win. The surge made things better, but we’ll see how it pans out longer term. This was the guy who SHRUNK the military after 9/11, of all things and told young men to go shopping instead of enlisting.

You have no clue what you are talking about when it comes to Iraq or as to GWB as CinC - The man has been one hell of a CinC and the shooters throughout by and large love the man. Would serve under him any day, any where.

The "surge" did not win Iraq. The timing of the surge took great advantage of the successes in killing / routing of AQ (mimics and JAM forces) in all of 05/06. Yes, the surge was correctly timed, but it is not what won Iraq. That took place in the rough days of 05/06, when OP tempos were through the roof.

As for the military shrinking after 9-11. Full BS. Not in terms of actually shooters (sans dead weight) it has not. Not by a long shot.

Regarding SECDEF Rumsfeld, again, you're clueless about what you're saying....Here are some realities regarding SecDef Rumsfeld. It was Rumsfeld who shoved, pushed and dragged the Big Green (Army) into modernization and we're not talking simply Stryker's and new hats...

It was SecDef Rumsfeld who demanded an alternative Op plan for Stan (after Sept 11th) instead of the ridiculous Op plan demanded by Gen. Shinzeki and the Big Green. As they declared as the only way to be successful...Which called for 5 Divisions and a 6-8 month build up before we would be able to deal with removing the Taliban and al-Qeade from Stan...(and don't forget the 82nd's demand for bowling alley's before they wanted to play)...

It was SecDef Rumsfeld who demanded for all services to integrate and push the priority of CAS (which has saved thousands of U.S. lives to date...and killed thousands more of the enemy)..

It was also SecDef Rumsfeld who has turned our Shooters from SOCOM loose like never before.....and allowed them to rid themselves of risk-adverse OGAs for their own Intel gathering.....It was SecDef Rumsfeld who got SOCOM authorized as its own war-fighting command.....(which of course hurt many feelings in the Big Green...as now they are often tasked as "support" for SOCOM...and not the other way around). It was through these changes that we saw the gutting of AQ throughtout Iraq in 05/06...

SecDef Rumsfeld supported a light footprint doctrine when it made sense. Both in Stan and for the original phase of OIF it made sense to go with the numbers we went with (and many conveniently leave out the fact that the 4th ID sat off shore because State couldn't pull its d*ck out of its own pants once again and make Turkey cooperate).

The reality of what was accomplished throughout this WOT over the last 7 years is historically amazing by most reasonable measures.....on a macro-sense. And hell if WWII would have been judged how the war today is....we've lost a long time ago. The case can easily be made (micro) that WWII was one blunder after another....right up until we won.

The world is safer today (without question) because of the leadership and changes demanded by SecDef Rumsfeld.

I blame the Kennedy family for this with the immigration reform bill in the 60’s which basically increased immigration from 3rd world countries while limiting Europeans!

I hope there is a special place in hell waiting for Teddy Kennedy.

I’ve called them the Stupid Party for a long time and they really earned this election season. They got their butts kicked two years ago and the response was to get a bigger beatdown two years later. That’s astounding. And tragic for us because I truly fear we’re about to see Nazi Germany repeat itself.

Immigration is surely part of the problem, but consider some of the other , cultural, trends that work against conservatives:
Half of the country payes no appreciable income taxes.
Half the country have the government as their primary source of income.
Plus McCain hoisted himself on the petard of public financing and was outspent four to one, and that doesn't count the relentless pounding from a media deep in the tank for Obama.
“New Tone” G. Bush would not fight back against the democrats and let them establish that Iraq was a disaster and the financial meltdown was all Wall Street’s fault.

I will NEVER again hold my nose in the voting booth and vote a RINO into office. They have destroyed this party.

The one good thing about this is many of the RINO senators got the boot tonight. We need to stick to conservative principles and tell liberal pubs to get lost.

I hope none of you ever forget who these traitorous Rino’s have been.

I think they are no longer RINO's, they are the Republican party. I find that I was the one who was a RINO as I don't believe what the leaders of the Republican party believe. The vote by Bush, McCain and the rest of the Republicans for the most massive pork and redistribution of wealth bill in the history of the world was the final writing on the wall. Conservatives are only marginally part of the Republican party and I, for one, am setting myself free from the hypocrisy of claiming to be a member.

The Republican part has become like the Catholic Church. They both are based on never changing principles but few actually believe in them. Only 30% of Catholics attend Mass weekly and probably only half of them actually believe all the teachings of the Church. Likewise, most who call themselves Republican really don't believe in the lofty ideals espoused in the Republican platform. They care about what they can get, just like the Democrats.

I can be true to my principles by being a committed Catholic even if I"m in a minority, I cannot be true to my principles by remaining a Republican.

I take solace in the words of a wise constitutional scholar I know who said "no matter how alone you are, you can always take comfort in knowing that the truth will always be your friend.

Here in central Ohio, there actually are a lot of Somali immigrants. The Dispatch ran a story about how they were all voting for Obama because Bush gave Ethiopia permission to invade their country.

I think I’ll cash it all in an sell the house and move back to Dixie where people still prize liberty and individuality, and make my final stand there.

We're here waiting on you. Right now we're getting reading for anything. We are armed to the teeth down here, and we ain't skeered. I'm 28, madam, and I don't have any intention of giving up. I know greatness comes out of adversity. Did you know that more millionaires where made during the Great Depression than any other time in US history. I'm sure the founders of this great nation did not want to do what they did to survive, but they were much better for it.
