Obama wins Ohio...it's not going to happen for McCain.
I see that he must fulfill his promise.
If he does that immediately, and at a very low level, just so he can say he did it, THEN he can allow the Bush cuts to expire. I believe they start to expire in 2010.
As mentioned, the other way to get more cash is to pull out of Iraq and Afghan, and continue spending at that level.
So, he’s in a position of needing to be able to say that he did cut taxes. You and I can expect to see about $2.37. The poor check to the non-taxed will be in the neighborhood of 1-2 hundred bucks. He’ll seriously trim it.
As for me, I’m serious about wasting my vote yesterday on McCain. I should have voted for Baldwin. Billy Cunningham had it right all along. McCain wasn’t truly trying. He had chaos for an organization in Ohio. He held Palin back. He wouldn’t attack on clearly questionable associations. He refused to pick a fight over abortion. He refused to pick a fight over traditional marriage. He refused to propose more tax cuts. He couldn’t fight Obama’s spending, because his own CFR was killing him. He couldn’t bring up illegals, because he knew we’d walk away from him over it.
The best depression era investment was farmland. I've spoken to dozens of depression era people, and those who had it best were those who could grow their own food. In terms of this side of eternity, "how can you have too much of something that lasts forever?" (I think that's either Pearl Buck or Scarlet O'Hara. :>)
Next comes guns and ammunition and stored food.
As a safe financial investment, you'll have to look at those who funded him: OPEC, trial lawyers, investment houses, hollywood.
You voted for Palin.
True. They were just saying on Fox that she’s being attacked by the McCain camp behind the scene....apparently she didn’t want their help to prepare for Couric.
The whole scenario is what they should be attacking — giving Couric and Gibson the right to edit a sit-down with Palin.
Al Qaeda is celebrating today. As is Ahmadinejad, Castro, Chavez, Lula, Putin, and the chicoms.
I think we need to consider starting a Reagan Republican Party or a Reagan Republican Trust Fund, where all of us conservatives can stop contributing any money to any Republican candidate or the Republican party and instead send our money to this trust fund. In order for any candidate to get their hands on any of that money, they would need to sign a pledge that they would only vote consistently with the principles of the Reagan Republican Trust Fund platform. Failure to follow those principles would result in the candidate being permanently prohibited from receiving any of the trust fund's money in the future.
My proposal for the Reagan Republican Trust Fund Pledge:
1) Lower taxes;
2) Limited Government;
3) Strong National Defense;
4) Secure Borders;
5) Protection of the unborn;
6) Individual 2nd Amendment rights;
7) Judicial Restraint;
8) Individual Liberty with Individual Responsibility;
9) Nationalism;
10) Patriotism - America First.
Let me repeat that
For the first time in my adult life I am ashamed of my country.
(The first time was the Iran hostage crisis)
America you brainwashed sheep you will get what you voted for.
I, too, will resign as a Republican. There is no way that the Rinos will be driven out. They proved this campaign that they run the place. I say let them have it. It’s old and decrepit, anyway.
A new party is probably the best course. Although, we should go read the Constitution Party platform. It really is a reasonable first step to see what they are trying to do.
These parties keep trying to gain notoriety from the top down...they always run for President.
I would favor instead running from the bottom up: county commissioners, trustees, common judges, attorneys general, state-level reps, senators.
Thanks for the laugh...I needed that!
Come on, look at the bright side of this fiasco. No more rantings from Matthews, Olbermann, Maddow, Blitzer, Brown or the drooling fawning of the three anchors. Who wants to hear the sound of nothing?
All true.
However, since I’m in a serious mood right now, I’ll say seriously that I really don’t see the Republicans trying to accomplish anything that’s important to me.
They had a great opportunity: Presidency, House, Senate...and they blew it on an over-spending extravaganza that would have made any democrat proud. They blew it on illegal aliens, CFR, dubai ports, harriet miers, avoidance of any conservative issues.
