It’s Not Quite a Rerun of 2004, But We May Not Be That Far Off
A person who contrasted the exit poll data with what we know from the results we have in Indiana and some other states concludes that the Democratic bias in the exit polls seems to have declined slightly from 2004, from eight points to roughly five.
Looking at that first batch of exit polls, shifting 5 percent from the Obama pile to the McCain pile gives us...
Obama: IA, MI, NH, NM, PA (52-48) WI
McCain: GA, FL, IN, MO, NC, OH, WV
Tie: NV, VA.
If this is the case, we are in for a long and exciting night. Having said that, we don’t know for certain that the 5 percent skew is even across the board.
Having said that, ABC News is calling Pennsylvania for Obama, the moment the polls close. Gotta wonder if they’ve gotten exit polls from central Pennsylvania yet.
Don’t think so. Sadly.
Obama will win. Sadly.
PA was called for the Socialist by ABC and NBC by exit polls - where are you getting your optimism? I have ‘hope’ but where is your optimism coming from (results?).
McCain has no chance in IA. Get real. Fork. Done.
I need an Excedrin!
troll alert
Fight on McCain!
ditto that..put a fork in it. End of the republican party as we know it and the head of the Socialist PArty has reared it’s ugly head to take over.
Say hello to the axis of evil Obama-REid-Pelosi.
This is shaping up to be a disaster. McCain is running behind Bush in all areas of VA, NC, and Indiana
Welcome to Free Republic!
This election is already over because the fix was in from the get go. Im already planning on sucking every tax dollar and free grant I can get my hands on for business development, and training programs for all the rejects out there. I have already figured out how I can get Mr. Obama to pay me to train his ‘poor’ constituents to build my products. God I love America. Ill be the first one in line with my hand out at the White House to help Mr. Obama make change and build the dreams of the future. They won’t notice that I will be redistributing my tax dollars back to me! Yeah!

Lots of newbies trolling these threads tonight. Beware of those telling you it’s over. It ain’t over until it’s over.
wow its not gonna be a blowout by any stretch
they are running neck and neck in popular vote
Mac and Palin gave Pa their absolute best shot. If these calls stick tonight I fear we're in for a long time in the wilderness.
Indiana is way too close. Florida is way too close. Neither looks very good right now. Pennsylvania is lost. Add to this the fact that the communists are cleaning up in the senate races and things don’t look good at all.
This is done.
God help us all.
Welcome to the United Socialist States of America. I’m so happy I’m not in the Army anymore; I couldn’t stand putting my live on the line for a socialist government.
The problem in Indiana is that Lake County (with Gary, Hammond and East Chicago) has not yet begun to report results yet. McCain is leads by about 5% with 40% of precincts reporting, but his lead will need to be much larger to compensate for all of the Obama votes from Lake County.
It’s over. Pennsylvania to O.
