So far:
Turnout at GOP precincts has been unbelievable.
In Darke Couty, which went 2:1 for Bush in 04, they are looking at 80% turnout and thousands of additional R voters.
In Allen County, heavy R turnout.
In Montgomery County (Kerry won by 2% in 04), the west side (D) precincts are coming in under 20% by mid-afternoon!!! Our R precincts are outpacing them 2:1.
Reports of other red counties are at tremendously high levels.
BASED ON THIS . . . .
wait for it
not only would I "call" Ohio now for McCain, but it's entirely likely he could end up being a sizeable statewide victory margin. I won't tell you yet what it could be, but it portends amazing things for the rest of the states.

Good to see you. Interesting analysis as always. I am seeing the same about 25% Dems that I communicate on a regular basis (40 including relatives & co-workers) in Michigan crossing over to vote for McCain.

You can’t always get what you want, but, if you try sometimes, you get what you need.
I did not like McCain, but he is not so bad. I have a feeling he is a guy we can work with.
To: big_pale
low Dem turnout seems to be happening across the state. I think thats a sign of big early voting.
On Sunday, Obama asked his mass of supporters, "How many of you have already voted?" Within the viewable area of supporters ALMOST ALL had their hand raised. I've been wondering since 'how minimal votes' he will have to be counted tonight. Hmmm..

If John McCain becomes President it will because of Sarah Palin.Ditto. If current trends prevail, it can be said that she wrapped it and put a bow on top !!

Sadly I worked yesterday at the polls....good turn out but the comments coming from voters was almost too much. People were very passionate about this election, oh both side. Lots of hanky panky as well. Missing voter names, wife was on , husband name missing, lots of college kids coming in that had their voting regristrations changed by out friends at Acorn I could go on and on.

Thanks for helping at the polls..
Ann woke me up top tell me the news around 1 AM, I was unable to fall back to sleep until 2:30...
Now the brave new world starts, my only hope is we don't end up like "Big Brother is watching" from 1984...a totalitarian state!!

I am so not looking forward to work today...but on a bright side I get to print out new bumper stickers to annoy every liberal there. :)

Do you think Hillary would have been a better choice for the democRAT candidate?

At least with Hillary we knew exactly what to expect....with O I fear the worst...taxes, retaliation and death to our Republic

Well, looking at this in retrospect, it's pretty obvious we were all wrong. We have been bouying each other up for the past few weeks with all this speculation and hopeful talk, and it's pretty obvious that a lot of us were sustaining ourselves on caffeine and wishful thinking.
I hope that in 2012 the Republicans run a real Republican.

What we were most wrong about was the tried and true voter ID models. You assume that Ds will vote D and Rs will vote R. You don't assume that 25% of Rs will vote for a radical like Obama.
But in our precincts, they did.

I’m finding out from more and more of my “friends” all Christian, most gun-owning and all supposedly conservative, that a LOT of them voted for Dear Leader.
It’s like they’re mesmerized.
Like rats transfixed by a cobra, or something.
I honestly have no explanation, and neither did they, when pressed on why they would vote for someone so asntithetical to their opinions and beliefs.
