Tim Robbins made a big stink at the YMCA on West 14th Street this morning when he was told that his name was not on the voter list. According to City Room, Robbins has been voting at the same polling place since 1997, but for some unknown reason, his name was nowhere to be found when he went in this morning. The Times happened upon him sitting in a folding chair looking dejected and annoyed: "The poll workers here know me...The woman said she remembered seeing me here for the primaries."
On Real Time with Bill Maher last month, Robbins seemingly foresaw his fate when he urged thwarted voters to "refuse provisional ballots. Theyre throwing those out. They can throw those out. If thats your last resort, take it, but fight in the polling place to vote. Its your right as an American." And fight he did, even refusing to move at the behest of a poll worker who threatened to have an officer remove him. "Is this some kind of intimidation? Im taking this as intimidation," the Tapeheads star reportedly remarked.
After filling out but not submitting an affidavit ballot, Robbins trooped down to the Board of Elections office at 200 Varick Street, where board officials verified that he was a registered voter and a Civil Court judge ruled that he must be allowed to vote. Apparently, at least 40 voters at his polling place had the same problem. Robbins told the the Times, "I have the time and luxury to do this. If this is a systemic thing, what does that mean for the country? Do the math on this one. It bears looking into that this might be a random elimination." His partner, Susan Sarandon, was able to vote without any problems.
maybe that’s why bambi didn’t invite him to his party tonight.
“Don’t you know who I am! I got a Porsche already! A 911 with a quadrophonic Blaupunkt!”
Sorry Meat don’t know who you are. lol!
Technically, you DO vote first, then it is cleared up. They give you a provisional ballot. The provisional ballots are reviewed at the registrars office, where they determine whether or not to allow it. Voters can call in or check on-line a week or so later and see if their vote counted.
So, two words;
Provisional Ballot
He didn’t want a provisional ballot, he wanted a normal ballot........
They most likely just changed his polling location this is common. When your sample ballot is mailed to you it will tell you where your polling location is. I used to vote just down the street in my neighborhood one year ago they changed me to another poll about 2 miles away. Not uncommon
unfortunatley because he is stupid and famous he can say that the Republicans are trying to steal the election.
The ballots are exactly the same. one (if your name on list) gets counted first - these are the numbers generally announced on election night.
Prov ballots are counted after info is confirmed. normally the next day.
Either way his vote counts.

They are having to reach back 20 years to a midnight movie to find something that readers may know him by?
There’s a letter “u” in my screenname, that some folks seem to feel is misplaced ... I might be persuaded to trade that “u” for the offending “a” in the title ... just to reduce confusion all around.
GOOD! Glad to see that someone is enforcing the rules.
Maybe Tim needs to look back through the obits in the local paper to determine if there is a valid reason for him to no longer be on the voter rolls.
I wouldn't be surprised if he knew (or even caused) his name was off the voter roll so he could have this little hissy fit. The left doesn't like voter ID and they don't like provisional ballots. They would rather have fake votes thrown into the ballot box and thus be inseparable from legal votes.
Hmmmm. He raises a stink on tv and then he “just so happens” to have been “dropped”.
Perhaps he already had seen that he was no longer on the voter rolls.
Doesn’t he have a card from voting in the primary? In my state, they rubber stamp it with the party you vote for in the primary so you don’t crossover in any primary runoff for a party you didn’t initially vote for.
He can’t keep up with a little piece of paper? How about showing them his driver’s license and a phone bill with his street address?
I think he’s trying to make himself a poster boy, here.
As for me, I’d RATHER find out that I’d been dropped off the rolls erroneously than to find out that someone had committed identity theft and already voted in my name.
I vote EARLY. If there are complications, I still have time to get it resolved.
Life is hard, stuff happens.
Suck it up Timmy you cry baby.
LOL
I like to joke about timmy being mr. sarandon.
Bad joke I guess.
Intimidation? He should have gone to our office at 201 Varick street.
What’s at 201 Varick St?...............

"Yeah, we're guards!"
