Gas is 1.82.

It looks like a good turnout in Real America.

Are we gonna win this thing?

I hope Sean is more upbeat today than yesterday, and he’ll put a lid on the “conservatism in exile” crap.

The first black president should be a Republican.

Democrats must be particularly anxious today after eight years of Bush. Tim Robbins, actor-director, partner of Susan Sarandon, and a poster child of Hollywood liberalism, was edgier than normal as he waited to cast his vote this morning. Writes in a tipster, who sadly didn’t have a cameraphone: “My friend is waiting to vote at the YMCA on 14th between 6th and 7th... Tim Robbins is making a scene, apparently yelling at some dude. And now the police were called and arrived about 10 minutes ago...” What was that all about?

http://gawker.com/5076076/tim-robbins-makes-a-scene-at-polling-place-cops-called

A guy who was volunteering at the polling place asked Tim to move so they could make more room in the polling space and let more voters in. Apparently, Tim had been sitting inside the voting area for some time. Tim completely flipped out on the guy and accused him of trying to intimidate him by asking him to move, thus “infringing upon his freedom to vote,” and then he demanded to speak to the highest level of management in the Election Board. The volunteer was beside himself, because here was this celeb-loon going off on him. The volunteer left and after about 5 mins the cops showed. At that point I had cast my ballot and had to vacate the premises.”

Anyone know if any of those stupid exit polls are out yet? If not, maybe a lesson was learned about their accuracy after 04(fat chance), or maybe, just maybe they’re not getting the results they want (Wouldn’t that be great!)

Pic Mrs S took on her way to work this morning.
Rather unusual for Merryland.

I’m just wondering how you know it is a heavy turnout if this is your first Presidential election. Turnout is always heavier for Presidential elections than with off year elections.

Obama went duck hunting in Alaska .

He shot and dropped a bird, but it fell into Sarah Palin’s field on the other side of her fence.

As the lawyer climbed over the fence, Sarah drove up on her tractor and asked him what he was doing.

Obama responded, ‘I shot a duck and it fell onto this field, and now I’m going to retrieve it.’

Palin replied, ‘This is my property, and you are not coming over here.’

The indignant Obama said, ‘If you don’t let m e get that duck, I’ll sue you and take everything you own.’

Palin smiled and said, ‘Apparently, you don’t know how we settle disputes here. We settle small disagreements with the ‘Three Kick Rule.’’

Obama asked, ‘What is the ‘Three Kick Rule?’

Sarah Palin replied, ‘Well, because the dispute occurs on my land , I get to go first .’’I kick you three times and then you kick me three times and so on back and forth until someone gives up.’

Obama quickly thought about the proposed contest and decided that he could easily take a woman at this game. He agreed to abide by the local custom.

Sarah slowly climbed down from the tractor and walked up to Obama. Her first kick planted the toe of her steel toed work boot into Obama’s groin and dropped him to his knees.

Her second kick to the midriff sent the Obama’s last meal gushing from his mouth.

Obama was on all fours when her third kick to his rear end sent him face-first into a fresh cow pie.

He summoned every bit of his will and managed to get to his feet.Wiping his face with the arm of his jacket, he said, ‘Okay, Now it’s my turn.’

Palin smiled and said , ‘Na, I give up. You can have the duck.’

Experience wins again.
