Several callers to the Moon Griffon program, a statewide news/talk radio show that airs Monday through Friday in Louisiana, reported that they were unable to cast a vote in the United States Senate race this morning.
Incumbent Mary Landrieu (D-New Orleans) is seeking a 3rd term. She is being challenged by Republican state treasurer John Kennedy. Landrieu has been elected twice in close elections.
Please no “someone said Sally broke a nail while trying to vote” vanities.

I voted in EBR parish at Woodlawn middle school. NO problems but McCain is way down the list and O on top. The McCain light barely lighted,,I was unsure if it registered. Senate race no problem.
Light lines, about 20 in line, went fast, a smattering of black voters. Ladies around me all mad at how “negative” it was, campaign, and said it should be a law you can’t say mean things about other candidates!! I as astounded.
Freedom of speech is at risk even here in the solid conservative Louisana where our dems are more like RINOs than DEMS
Did they explain why they were unable to cast a vote for that specific race? Were they able to vote for other offices?
There may be confusion by poll workers when setting up touch screen machines to allow people to vote.
The congressional district in Shreveport is having primary elections today. The Republican primary is a closed primary, only registered Republicans may vote in it. Democrats and independents can vote in the Democrat primary.
The congressional primary is the only race that is supposed to be closed. Independents are reporting they are not being allowed to vote in the Senate race.

I voted in ST. Tammany Parish this morning and no problem voting for senate race as an independent. The presidential listing was in ABC order according to party. I went at 6:00 am and waited almost an hour.
