IS it over between John Edwards and his wife, Elizabeth? "The wedding band is missing," the Washington Post reported yesterday after covering a speech the cancer-stricken mother of two gave in DC on Monday night. Edwards, the former North Carolina senator who ran for president twice, finally acknowledged three months ago that he had an affair with campaign videographer Rielle Hunter. He denies he's the father of Hunter's baby girl, although he has been spotted visiting mother and child. A source said Edwards is no longer living with Elizabeth and that the couple have separated. But reps for Elizabeth Edwards did not return calls and e-mails.

I’m not so sure. I think I recall her daying some pretty darn mean things about Laura Bush.
Mom told me not to wish ill on others. I follow that advice. Now as for enjoying misery that befalls those that deserve it... Mom wasn’t so clear, so I’m going to enjoy this.
If the media had not shielded Edwards from exposure in his adulterous affair (which ended this spring), he would not have had a successful showing in a 3-way race with Hillary and Obama. The election may have turned out differently.
The 2006 election was about a “culture of corruption” that amounted to partisan “show trials” of Republicans (that didn’t pan out) and some sexual scandals. Those same “corruptions” exist today in Pelosi’s congress and in the presidential primaries but the media didn’t use that card this time.
He’s of no use to her anymore as far as power. All he has now is half of his wealth to take, before Obama takes it.

She’s dying. All she wants is to maximize her time on this earth with her children. That’s why she homeschools them. I think she wouldn’t divorce him because she wouldn’t want them gone even for weekends.

She was perfectly happy to live an extravagant lifestyle financed by her husband’s fraudulent lawsuits that destroyed many other people’s lives. No sympathy from me.
She’s actually the mother of four, correct? With one of her children being sadly deceased.
I too feel sorry for any woman dying (even a bitter partisan hack) who has two small children and this stress added at the end of her life
At least financial worries are not part of her problems

Did she give him the boot or did he walk when his political aspirations went down the drain?
That’s what ring guards are for. Plus, she can afford professional re-sizing. You don’t shed a wr over weight fluctuation.

If he had bowed out earlier, Clinton would have won the nomination. Today would not have even been close. 500 EC votes for Hillary. We got the candidate we wanted. At least this will be close....I hope.
When I think back to that 60 Minutes interview, where they announced that Miss Breck was running in spite of Liz’s terminal illness, I seem to recall them both saying that they were not expecting her to make it to see him elected. Well, here we all on on election day, including Liz Edwards, and I can’t help but wonder if a mother knowingly exaggerated the gravity of her illness for political gain. If she did put her children through that grief, she’s just as bad as he is, as far as I am concerned.
I don't keep up with family matters of people I despise, so I can't answer how many children they are inflicting on us.
And I can't imagine how one gets joyously deceased.
Elizabeth Edwards is a scum who is using the cancer thing to gain sysmpathy.
