We just voted in Shrewsbury MA. At 11:30 am, the line was out the door for both precincts that vote at the Public Works Dept. We had to create a parking place, close to the box recycling dumpster, because we had some corrugated boxes to dump. I've never seen that many people there, in the 20 years we've lived here! Thankfully, by the time we got to the door, we only had one person in front of us, and we were in and out in 5 minutes. Our precinct usually has a LARGE Republican turnout, which is great, but we're usually negated by the hereditary Democrat vote, here in MA.

I'm finishing my Novena today, for McCain & Palin.

“In South Carolina she would not have been allowed to vote unless she turned that shirt inside out! You can not wear a button, a pin, a shirt, a hat, a sticker...nothing that indicates which candidate or party you are voting for. You also can not do that if you work the polls, especially if you work the polls! That being said, I wonder if that is only in SC.”

Probably a good idea, 4everontheright. I thought the Obama-faced tee-shirt looked silly, but if I was someone else and had to cross the path of several larger people wearing The One’s official election day apparel at my polling location, I might have felt intimidated by the situation.

At least she can throw away the tee-shirt tomorrow. There are half-peeled off Kerry stickers on car bumpers all over town. Most just slapped an Obomination sticker on top of it this year and went on like Kerry never happened.

He's wrong. Since this morning the numbers have ticked upward in Battleground and on CNN. Do not be an Eeyore. GO AND VOTE!

Not a tiny hamlet like Dixville Notch, but a village, not a town. I am somewhat bothered by the complete lack of visible Republican campaign workers. If someone had come to some of my "independent" neighbors (someone more skilled at such things than me), we might have done better.

I was also troubled by the presence of several Liberaltarian candidates on the ballot, doing their best with their "friendly fire" (hah) to put our first communist President into the White House.

Wife an I voted at around 8:00 AM in Broadview Hts, OH(Cleveland Suburb). This is the first year of voting in a much larger building as the one we used in 2006 was way too small and people had to wait over an hour just to get in. This year the parking lot was packed and a steady stream of white professionals. Young college kids were helping with directing voters and older white woman helping with checking ID’s and ballots. Took about 20 minutes to vote. If I were to guess I,d say 60% McCain, 40% Obama. I also voted (again) for Josh Mandel the 30 yr old Marine who was elected in 2006 and was called back to Iraq to serve!!

Light turn out at our district in Burlington county NJ.
Polls opened at 0600, we were there at 0800 and were the 56th & 57th ballots cast. No line, no waiting.
Our district is about 50/50 R/D.

Its obvious by now the claim of a 7-10+ Dem voter turnout is hogwash. Hillbuzz and PUMA sites are reporting record GOP turnout. Let hope it continues throughout the day. Ignore the media and the polls. GET OUT AND VOTE!

Here's the Mugs Bunny report at least. I've never heard so many of the cops/firemen/streets&san/city employee group openly support a republican like they are with McCain. It started with people speaking in hushed tones about possibly having to vote McCain if Hillary didn't win, and has turned into straight-out “no way will I vote for that POS Obama - vote McCain!!” over the last few months. I know it won't make a dang bit of difference in Illinois, but hopefully it will be a much less local trend.....

I live in a very blue area, one of the bluest in the country and there were lots of people out voting. I drove by lots of polling places. Interestingly, enough, I kept encountering a car that appeared to be an official Obama car driving around the polling places as well. I then went to my smaller town that went about 50/50 in the last Presidential election. There are only two stoplights and I was waiting at the busiest one while a woman with a big Obama sign was very aggressive towards the traffic. I didn't hear a single person honk at her as if in agreement. Most people were trying very hard to ignore her.
I do have a suggestion if you are as antsy as I am. Do a random act of kindness to someone who would not expect it...maybe to someone with family in the military...give flowers to a neighbor...stop by your church and say a prayer....even if it is only the parking lot.

"Columbia in Howard County MD at 9:20am - Seemed like lower turnourt vs 2006 in this BLUE area of a DEEP BLUE state. The place seemed empty. Was in and out within 10 minutes with no waiting. I was almost expecting a line what with all the stories on TV this morning. Voted McPalin! (of course)"

No kidding. Montgomery Co. here is a lost cause (BLUE), but I fight the good fight because I never surrender. :)

I can't explain the lack of a crowd... it wasn't dead but it wasn't that much more than 2000 or 2004. I meant to be there when it opened at 7am but I ran late and got there 30 minutes after it opened. If the Obamaphoria was in fact what we were lead to believe, where were all the people at 7:30am hitting the polls before work? Or going in late? Maybe they'll go later today/tonight, but I was mildly surprised I was out so fast. The school was closed, BTW, so there was no additional commotion.

Is the turnout 7-10+? If there are 7 to 10 Dems for every Republican in your state, let us know. So we can keep the Eeyores off here! ;-)

Perhaps they believe the MSM literally that Obama has it in the bag and they don't need to show up to vote.

That’s good news and I’m not too surprised. May it be the trend in Hegewisches everywhere. I was going more on the yard signs I’ve seen — I don’t recall seeing as many Republican signs there before, and the almost complete lack of Obama signs. And I was going by some of the people I know who, while they might be Democrats, are in no way the far-out left types that Obama attracts.

I’m not a native of the area, but a few years back when I went into Aniol’s and heard Rush Limbaugh on the radio, I knew I wasn’t alone.

I voted by absentee so I didn’t go to the polls but my neighbor just called me after she went and she said the lines were so long she couldn’t see the end of it. I asked her what the percentage of Caucasian and minority, she said overwhelming Caucasian.

She is somewhat unstable on her feet so her son talked to a poll worker and they brought out a machine for her to vote on and when she pushed the button to review her vote, the machine went berserk so her vote was never entered.

She told the poll worker she didn’t get a chance to vote and demanded she be taken inside to vote. They took her inside and she was allowed to finally vote.

The problem is, how many OTHER votes were on that machine. They called Columbia SC and they are sending down someone to investigate.

There was a reporter from Channel 2 Charleston here in Ladson SC and observed the whole thing. After she got back home she called the TV station and was told they were looking into it.

There was near pandemonium at that polling place because of the confusion and extremely high turnout.

The state is about 50/50 but the city is probably 80+ blue. I saw lines out the door at some of these city polling places.

Heavy. Do you think though the party id is close or is it wide like the MSM claims?

I voted at the King (MLK) Co Elections office in Renton
on Saturday. They hold early voting for all comers from 9am to 3pm. Lines were around the building, mostly scruffy youts
and denizens of da hood. Most precincts near Seattle are
either leftish or communist; all are in the tank for the
obamination. Out in the sticks where I live, tables are turned.

Even if WA goes for “Hope” and “Change” as expected, theres still hope that we can get rid of Governess Fraudoire!
