'Lifelong Democrat' Who Supports McCain Finally Found
NewsBusters ^ | November 4, 2008 | P.J. Gladnick

Attention! Today is quite an historic day. At long last, a section of the media has discovered a "lifelong Democrat" who is supporting the Republican presidential candidate. As you might have noticed, this campaign season has seen a plethora of stories about "lifelong Republicans" who have finally "seen the light" and are supporting Barack Obama. Of course, such "lifelong Republicans" when you look beneath the surface are either Democrats who are fibbing or are formally Republicans on paper but are actually liberal Democrats such as ACLU member Jan Martin who was recently featured on the CBS Early Show. However, we have now found that rarest of all critters, at least according to the mainstream media, a "lifelong Democrat" who is working to elect John McCain. This rarer than a Bigfoot person is one Kevin DuJan of Illinois. Perhaps he was only discovered because this report comes via the Medill News Service which is so small that perhaps they were overlooked when the message went out that there are no such things as "lifelong Democrats" supporting the Republican presidential ticket. Since this "lifelong Democrat" sighting is so rare, let us now read the report by Jen Thomas (emphasis mine):

Kevin DuJan, a lifelong Democrat, was so dedicated to his party that he once abandoned a blind date to avoid going out with a Republican.

"In third grade, the teacher asked us the difference between Democrats and Republicans, and I got up without thinking and said, 'Democrats are good, Republicans are evil.' That's what I really thought," the 32-year-old said.

Isn't 32 a wee bit OLD to be in third grade?

I know MANY lifelong Democrats here in rural Missouri who are voting McCain today. Not so much because they love McCain but rather to vote AGAINST 0bama.

Oh, come now, we’ve had plenty of high profile examples of this recently. Lynn de Rothschild comes readily to mind.

I noticed one of the heavy dem areas close to us with McCain/Palin signs in their yards. Several lifelong dems told me that there was NO WAY they intended to vote for BO.

I just got off the phone with my 70 year old mother. She’s a lifelong Democrat who has never voted for a Republican but today she voted for McCain.

"Isn't 32 a wee bit OLD to be in third grade?"

Isn't 32 a wee bit young to be a "life-long" anything? Well, accept maybe a life-long third grader?

So the media has found a lifelong democrat who is voting for McCain.

Well I guess what the journalists and other news media have been telling us is true then. They really aren't biased at all.

Here in Tennessee I've heard from MANY, repeat MANY, yellow dog democrats who say they will not vote for the socialist from Chicago(the old folks remember the corruption from Daley the Elder)And the women who were going to Hillary are now voting AGAINST the MAN, i.e., Obama and for Sarah.

Of course this is why Tennessee is safely in the McCain/Palin column

Got my wife to vote for McCain today. Was pretty simple. I just played her the Peggy Joseph YouTube video and said this is what America is going to be like under an Obama administration.

She cringed and changed her start page from MSNBC to “blank.”

We have had plenty of examples on Free Republic and other new media sources. Still, I have heard, as late as yesterday on the Rush Limbaugh show, during the ABC News top of the hour news break, interview a “Lifelong Republican” who was now voting for Obama. They let him (This “Lifelong” GOP’er) spend a lot of time talking about all the reasons, all straw man to us here, but very good propaganda for the less informed.

I have never heard, since the days of Richard Nixon, the mainstream media ever talk about, interview, or feature a lifelong democrat who was going to support/vote Republican. Never. If they did so, and I’m not saying they did not, I certainly didn’t hear it. I can say with certainty, that I do hear (on the driveby media) about “lifelong” Republicans voting dem, at least once every four years.
