GOP Election Board members have been have been tossed out of polling stations in more than half a dozen polling stations in Philadelphia because of their party status.
A liberal judge previously ruled that court-appointed Republican poll watchers could be removed from their boards by an on-site election judge, citing their "minority" status as cause.
It is the duty of election board workers to monitor and guard the integrity of the voting process.
Those on site as describing it as "pandemonium" and there may be video coming of the chaos.
Some of the precincts where Republicans have been removed are: the 44th Ward, 12th and 13th divisions; 6th Ward, 12th division; 32nd Ward, Division 28.
Election board officials guard the legitimacy of the election process and the idea that Republicans are being intimidated and banned for partisan purposes does not allow for an honest and open election process, said McCain-Palin spokesman Ben Porritt in a statement to Townhall.
The City of Brotherly Love was roiled in controversy during the 2004 election because of rigged voting machines that showed nearly 2,000 votes for Democratic presidential candidate John Kerry before the polls had opened. A man also used a gun to intimidate poll workers at Ward 30, division 11 in 2004.
Great.
But I went into my booth and made a little electronic Xs next to the few guys I voted for. Then I pushed a button and these disappeared. Maybe they will get counted. Maybe the guy who wrote the software will count my votes for his guys? Who can know? How can anyone check? Voting, here in NJ at least, is so unclean. It might be worse than useless.
ML/NJ
I think it is time for the USA to start bringing in election monitors.
And I am not joking about this.
just voted in Washington County SW Pa. We were a 50/50 county in 04. Lines was steady but not real heavy. What struck me is how easy it is to cheat. I volunteered my ID but don’t think I needed it. The check you off their list at one desk and then send you off to another one to pick up the voting card. I think I probably could have went strait over and got the card without being questioned. I bet I could come back throughout the day sneak around the line and vote a couple of more times. Our whole voting process is like something from a third world country. I have no confidence in getting a fair result in Pa. I can’t imagine what is going on in Philly. I think I’m going to find a bar thats open.
You gotta love community organizers, bringing chaos and class warfare to the democratic process for the greater good.
They’ll cast votes for as many dead people, canines and felines, and made up names as they can before a judge overturns their decision...and of course nobody will go to jail for violating the law....the burgeoning thugocracy.
It needs to be fought. While Philly, those sections in particular, are going to overwhelmingly vote Obama anyway, it still adds to the state total which is what we’re worried about.
Philly is a lock, but PA is not necessarily a lock. And it's the STATEWIDE totals that matter. The Dems hope to get enough votes cast in Philly (by any means necessary) to overcome the anti-Obama sentiment in the rest of the state.
:)
A Judge gave them permission to toss out the minority election board members.
That's how in blazes they can get away with it.
Philly may be a lock, in fact it's so far in the bag I doubt it can see out, but the same is not true of Pennsylvania as a whole. Every fraudulent vote in Philly cancels one in the "red" parts of the state.
I do know it also happened in Washington State's governor race.
People need to be arrested and go to jail
Let it be done!
Good luck. Many have tried. They have one man on tape from the last election throwing a female poll watcher out and saying everybody here votes democrat.
And if Philly is a ‘lock’ why do it so early in the day? Sounds like they need to build a big lead early...interesting. Also...gives time for R attornies to get Federal Court intervention.
Out here in York County, PA the lines have gotten longer as the morning moves on.
I was in a line at 7am and voted 82nd in a precinct with about 2000 voters at 740am.
In the spring I was 7th to vote and arrived at 7am for the primary just like today.
Philly will have to put out a lot of crap votes today to beat the rest of the state. So its no wonder they kick out the Republican poll watchers.
Here in my county both sides have people watching the poll.
Of course almost all our judges are Republicans in this county so they won’t issue orders to kick poll watchers out.
