To: Paine in the Neck
An extraordinaryly high turnout nationwide has historically meant a protest vote. Angry people marching in, bitter, sullen, determined.

This has not been your average election and the enormous turnout in polling place and in pre-voting can be construed either way one wants.

The last time I remember lines this long was 1980 when folks were determined to vote Carter out of our White House!

Also,..for the first time!.. not only did I show my driver's license AND voter's registration card, I had to read & agree with a warning that I was who I said I was, that I had not voted already and that the penalty would be prison if I lied!

I'm serious!!!!!

I think that's WONDERFUL!
