How was turnout? Were there any problems at your polling place? Who do you think will win your local races?

I voted for McCain/Palin at about 10:00 A.M. EST!!!!!!!

The precinct is blue, in The People’s Republic of Massachusetts.

There was only one person outside holding a sign: McCain/Palin!!! :-)

I didn’t have to wait in line. I think the counter on the ballot machine was a little over 500 when I cast my vote.

The school where I work is a polling place. There was a long line of people waiting to vote from 6:00 to 8:30. Since 8:30 there is hardly anybody in line.

Compared to the 2004 election, I believe there are fewer voters this year. This is a moderately blue precinct.

Arrived 15 minutes early.

Heavy turnout for our area.

At least half a dozen provisional ballots in progress which seemed unusual.

Very quiet.

No ID checks.

Got dirty looks from the dems as usual.

Voted at 7:25 am PST in San Diego. Weather was murky, a light mist (heavy marine layer). Precinct used to be pink. Now it’s light blue as the old folks have died or moved out and been replaced by boomers, many of them doctors or lawyers. The wait was about normal, not unusually long or short.

After I voted, I went to the machine to run my ballot through and was told it was broken. We submitted them in a secure place within the machine and were told that they would be submitted once the machine was fixed, after the polls closed.

Same thing happened to me here in NW Indiana, however I wasn't provided the option of returning.

Two registration lines - A through K and L though Z. A-K was lined up bak to the door. L-Z had maybe 3 people in line. Kinda odd.

Bunches of read, but being in rural Kansas I don’t think “Kansas blue” can be considered democrat blue.

One last thing - Most of the poll workers were wearing red.

I live in a traditionally red precinct - Denny Hastert territory. Strangely, a Dem (Foster) defeated Oberweis(R) in a runoff after Hastert left office. Now they are running once more in the general.

Anyway... I have never seen the line like it was this morning. I was in the queue at 6:30 and was #240 on the ballot receipt. The crowd was animated in a good way and ALL were amazed at the turnout. In all the years voting here, I have not seen anything like it. Hope it helps Oberweis but, my gosh, he is a dull candidate.

Voted at 10:45am in Red precinct in Nassau County, Long Island, NY and was #295 voting. This size turnout at this time of day is huge and there were two other precincts in the room at Village Hall, all with a steady stream of voters. Had to wait about 15 minutes. Something is going on out there, people were serious, even determined. New York is obviously a Blue state, but I don’t think people care - they’re out in large numbers, it seems, because they want to have their say - regardless. This phenomenon (apparently nationwide) is what we need to see to stick it to the MSM.

For the life of me, I cannot figure out why Bambi would bring bankrupting the coal industry at that late date! Any clue as to why?

He said that last January. It just took until the day before yesterday for the McCain oppo research team to find it!

We voted this morning at 9:00 am. There were a lot of cars and we had to invent a parking spot. But inside there was no line at all. There were about 15 people voting besides us. Our precinct is small, and in years past we’ve maybe had 2-5 people in front of us in line. I guess they are very efficient this year.

Our area usually votes democrat, unfortunately. So who knows if our votes mean anything here. At least we voted!

It is a beautiful morning, sunny and warm.

Any bets on when we’ll find out who our next president will be?

Live just outside Baltimore. Polling place is in a 99% black neighborhood. My representative is elijah cummings.

Saw TWO obama signs in the neighborhood. One McCain.

Normal line, normal turnout. In and out in 10 minutes.

I voted early two weeks ago in Texas and it was heavy at the time.

Today, my sister called from Dallas School District, and said, traffic heavy and long lines in the school she works at, with a scary amount of Muslims voting.

I voted in very very very Blue Montgomery county Maryland. I ran into my son coming out and he said”at least there are 3 of us” but I saw a heck of a lot folks from my church and 4 years ago I waited a long time to vote at the same time of day, this year I was in and out in 5 minutes.

I live in Yorba Linda (birthplace of Richard Nixon). Got to the polls just before 8:00. There were about 12 machines, which were all in use and 7 people waiting. My first presidential election in this neighborhood, so I have nothing to compare the lines to.
