Is he middle of the road?
I have no doubt that many people are helped in a critical situation by careful monitoring of these medications by the doctors that would know the most about them, but I believe that they are too easily prescribed without the patient aware of the side effects.
That doesn’t excuse the patient from pleading ignorance. There is information available, starting with the package inserts and if that didn’t scare a person enough to not take it or at least be very careful and vigilant, there is other databases of reliable information.
