WASHINGTON (Reuters) - Democratic presidential candidate Barack Obama's grandmother died of cancer, he said in a statement on Monday, a little more than a week after he interrupted the White House campaign to say goodbye to her in Hawaii.

However liberal she may, or may not have been, she was private, and she performed her parental role twice...once for her own, and then for her grandchild when her own daughter was either incapable or unwilling to do so. She clearly loved her grandson and gave him all the opportunity she could.
She cannot be blamed or slighted for this. May she rest in peace and may God in Heaven rest her soul.
Now, what Obama has done with that upbringing and opportunity himself, in wandering in the drug culture, in becoming an abject marxist, and in rubbing shoulders with and hobkbobbing radical and terroristic relationships to a political career is another matter entirely.
All in all honesty if that was my grandmother, i would have spent every last moment with her, it bothers me that his wife and daughters never went to see her, it just seems cold and all he could spare was an hour.

Thoughts and prayers for the family. Sounds like she lived a long life.
very well said.
I wish the repeated posts on this news story would die.
I don’t recall anyone saying she had cancer...I thought she had broken her hip????
Apparently it was posted while I was fiddling with posting it myself.
As usual, I am too slow.
But thanks for the kindness and not being completely sarcastic! (that was sarcasm)

Good lord. How many times do we have to see this post? It’s got to be the 15th one.
This is tricky. Of course one wants to wish a bereaved family comfort.
But here, in the case of Barack Obama, there is a confusion. He is a man of layers of lies, constant lies, lies upon lies.
There is simply no surety that any circumstance about Mr. Obama is honest.
Here’s the best I can do: I wish comfort to anyone truly bereaved in their days of bereavment.
Sad news.
Rest in peace, Mrs. Dunham. Thank you for doing what you could to raise your grandson and, as he said, for loving him very much.
Prayers for all the family and friends who will miss her.
