The Bible commands Jews to "vote conservative," author David Kinghoffer writes in his new book, "How would G-d vote? Why the Bible Commands You to Be a Conservative."
Klinghoffer, a senior fellow at the Discovery Institute and author of several books, challenges self-acclaimed liberal Jews to examine their traditional support of candidates with similar views.
The book covers the issues of Muslim terror, homosexual marriages, global warming and poverty, noting the Biblical solutions that he maintains help Jews survive physically and spiritually.
Klinghoffer charges the "liberal-Left" with views that contradict the Bible.
The Long Island Jewish Star noted that the author recently wrote an article in which he quoted Whittaker Chambers as saying that the Western notion of "political freedom" is a political reading of the Bible.
Concerning the U.S. presidential race, he wrote in the Jewish Forward last month that less committed Jews are more likely to feel "threatened" by Republican vice presidential candidate Gov. Sarah Palin.
Klinghoffer also noted that Jews are the second most liberal religious group, ranking only behind Buddhists.
Opposing views have been published in another book, "How Would G-d Really Vote? by Larry Yudelson and Yori Yanover. Yudelson told the New York Jewish Week that he does not really know how G-d would vote, but that Jews should have some humility about answering the question.
***the Biblical solutions that he maintains help Jews survive physically and spiritually***
No people on earth have been on somebody’s elimination list more often than the Jews.
Following scripture is the ONLY explanation for their long term survival.
Yep, see my tagline...
Romans 13: Everyone must submit himself to the governing authorities, for there is no authority except that which God has established. The authorities that exist have been established by God.
Vote your conscience and pray, “Thy will be done.”
Read the book if you want. It’s rather milquetoast.
For real Jewish scholarship, read Ramchal’s Derech HaShem or sefer Pirkei Avos with commentary by Sfornos.
David Klinghoffer does not sufficiently support American’s 2nd Amendment rights and that seals the deal for me against the guy.
How can you say “L’Chaim” and not allow people the right to self-defense?

David Klinghoffer is a little wishy-washy and wrong on the gun issue (he even misquotes Maimonides) but his book is a good read.
