Durbin’s Friends in the Liberal Media Say Vote for Him Because He had the “Courage” to Compare our Troops to Nazis!

“In what truly has to be the most bizarre and troubling political endorsement of all time, the State Journal-Register encourages voters to cast a vote for Dick Durbin because he had what they refer to as the ‘courage’ to go to the floor of the Senate in 2005 and compare our troops to Nazis.” – Steve Sauerberg, M.D.

(Lombard, IL) – This morning, the State Journal-Register issued its endorsement for the 2008 U.S. Senate race in Illinois. While it came as no surprise that the ultra-liberal newspaper, which previously has thrown its weight behind Governor Rod Blagojevich, endorsed Durbin, what did come as a surprise is the reasons given by the paper. “In what truly has to be the most bizarre and troubling political endorsement of all time, the State Journal-Register encourages voters to cast a vote for Dick Durbin because he had what they refer to as the ‘courage’ to go to the floor of the Senate in 2005 and compare our troops to Nazis,” said Republican nominee Steve Sauerberg, M.D.

In addition to praising Durbin’s “courage” for slandering our troops, the paper also praised Durbin’s votes for wasteful earmark spending, and criticized Dr. Sauerberg for his pledge to only serve two terms when elected. “This endorsement makes two things crystal clear,” continued Sauerberg. “First, the liberal media in this state is completely and totally divorced from reality, and second, it speaks volumes about Dick Durbin’s record if these are the best reasons that can be offered for his re-election.”

“If the State Journal-Register thinks that comparing our troops to Nazis qualifies as ‘courage’ and that participating in the morally bankrupt earmark process in Washington, D.C., – a corrupt process that has wasted billions of taxpayer dollars – should be lauded, then I wear its failure to endorse my campaign as a badge of honor,” concluded Sauerberg.

There was a holocaust survivor who said that those who do not know the difference between good and evil are worthless. I think Durbin fits the bill.

Every single day, Al Qaeda targets innocent people, even small children for annihilation. Then the Libs come along, they hear about a handful of coalition soldiers committing crimes and then they paint the US as evil incarnate and the terrorists as innocent victims.

All about Dick Durbin's daughter dying on November 1, 2008.

I could say a lot about this but I won't. He feels pretty misrable I am sure ~ no need to add to it at this moment.

But I do hope the people of Illinois reject him tomorrow.

My son is back in Iraq. I would like to discuss Durbin’s theory face to face. We could also talk about health care and the cost of reconstructive surgery, should he find himself in sudden need of it.

Why post this trash while he is preparing to bury his daughter. I understand that he is a liberal democrat but can’t we freaking wait a week? I am really disappointed in this post during this week.

Why? He is who he is. I’m feel badly about his daughter but I also feel badly about him. He and his comments presided over the deaths of our soldiers. He and the left helped embolden our enemy and if the press was honest they’d trot out figures showing how the divisive nature of such over the top comments has harmed our military efforts. If there was justice in this world it would not be his daughter laying in that casket.

Gosh I hope people are more sympathetic when or if you have to bury one of your children. You might be right about the facts, but so what...give the guy a week...or at least until the burial. That is what this country does for those who died or at least decent people do.

Sorry about Durbin’s daughter passing away, but my son was one of the first American soldiers to cross into Iraq in March 2003. He is a Jewish American liberator of 25 million moslems and christians. HE IS NOT A NAZI!

The Nazis wiped out our European family in Lemberg, Belzec and Auschwitz.

We owe Durbin nothing but disdain.

Like your son, I served in Iraq, and I hate Durbin. I was in the navy for 21 years, and I was near Baghdad, Sept. 2004-Mar. ‘05.

I live in Illinois, and I voted for Durbin’s conservative opponent, Chad Koppie. He’s the only candidate, in that race, who is pro-life, pro-gun, and anti-illegal alien. If you know any IL conservatives, please tell them about Koppie’s site, www.koppieforsenate.com.
