If McCain wins, when all is said and done there will be a “study.” Part of that should analyze the ever popular youth vote about how the Dems have registered some 1.5 MILLION new voters in the 18-21 age group and how that’s going to shift the paradigm even more to the left. What they fail to take into account is the responsibility levels of that age group. Especially high school seniors and college freshmen. I know, I have taught that age group for 20 years. If they see a line they’re going to go to a movie, instead. Or they might simply sleep all of election day. The odds that a significant portion of this group will turn out in numbers capable of making any sort of real impact are minuscule. Except for a few zealots the group as a whole hasn’t the Patience to endure uncomfortable conditions and stand in one spot to accomplish a task that few of them feel makes a difference anyway.

Here in my neck of the woods in Michigan I’ve seen far less Obama signs than there were Kerry, Clinton and Gore signs. Plenty of McCain signs though. My sister is a big time lib and she’ll vote for Obama, but she’s really lukewarm on him. She wanted Hillary to win. I don’t think Obama has the base fired up at all. In contrast the Republican base seems very fired up.

From what I have heard, internals show McCain within striking distance in WI too...

Also for the WI 8th district, it appears that Gard and Kagen are in a dead heat.

So much for that nonsense.

Let’s not believe “Carl in Ohio” or any non-sourced material any more.
