My wife made me canvas for Obama; here's what I learned (Henpecked worm finds HOPE!)
Christian Science Monitor ^ | 11-3-08 | Jonathan Curley (henpecked worm)

There has been a lot of speculation that Barack Obama might win the election due to his better "ground game" and superior campaign organization.

I had the chance to view that organization up close this month when I canvassed for him. I'm not sure I learned much about his chances, but I learned a lot about myself and about this election.

Ask not what you can do to help yourself. Ask what your government can do for you instead.

His ground game is paying everyone 100 bucks a day to support him. My dog could win this race with $600,000,000.

Hmmmmm, kind of sounds like what one would have found if one had canvassed for Adolph Hitler in Germany. Unfortunately, the Germans got change, and lots of it. So, be careful of what you hope for when it comes to change. There is good change, and there is bad change.

Obama can't even get his base together, yet he expects us to believe he'll get thousands of people who've never voted before? Sure. SNORT!>

Another milquetoast moderate mishy mash who “just wants some HOPE”.

It’s not about bringing socialism to this country, it’s about HOPE and CHANGE!

I love these evidence-free wishy washy endorsements of Obama that tell us it’s not about issues (how convenient for Obama), rather it’s about “temperment”, or “hope”, or “change”.

For a ‘swing voter’, he sure did feel pretty generous to a Dem in 2007:

Of course, it’s completely normal practice for ‘swing voters’ who ‘decide’ while canvassing for a candidate to drop a grand donating to a candidate.

He’s not going to get a bigger tax cut from obama. Firstly, ppl who are leftists are big on increasing tax on EVERYTHINGN, no matter what they say on the campaign trail. Eventually when they can, they’ll increase it, its part of the ideology.

2nd, Bush tax cut will expire and democrats will not make it pernament, so everyone’s tax will increase even more

Barf.

Those hopey-eyed people need to realized America has cared about them along. But its never about one’s self, its about all of us and doing your part to better your life which in the end helps everyone. Happiness comes from within, it’s not delivered by a politician.

If Obama does happen to get elected what’s going to happen to the morale and hopes and dreams of these people when they find out he’s just another dangerous politician?
