The presidential contest in Virginia is heading toward a photo finish.
The final Richmond Times-Dispatch Poll of the campaign shows Sen. Barack Obama at 47 percent and Sen. John McCain at 44 percent. Nine percent are undecided -- an unusually large slice of the electorate. The profile of undecided voters suggests that some are potentially opposed to Obama.
Because Obama's advantage over McCain is within the poll's margin of error -- plus or minus 4 percentage points -- the contest in Virginia can be considered about even.

If it weren’t for all the Beltway liberals who live in Virginia, Mac would take it without a problem.
No way they’re taking VA. This state is rockin’ with the GOTV! According to Victory HQ, they’ve never seen this level of volunteer committement and shear panic from conservatives. Plus it’s supposed to rain all day in Richmond on Tuesday!! 80% chance!
You’ve made my day!
That Revrum Wright ad will force them toward McCain in droves. Finally the RNC knows how to use its money!
The Reverend Wright ad is not done by the RNC. The ad is done by a group called GOPtrust.com
Okay, I HATE harassing people at home, but I just made 12 calls. The last two convinced me to stop because they were strong McCain supporters in Virginia who had already received 10 calls. One woman assured me McCain/Palin had her support but angrily asked if they could please just watch their football. Doh! I do better standing on street corners at sign waving rallies...
“The profile of undecided voters suggests that some are potentially opposed to Obama.”
I guess Obama is the media’s “home team” kind of like the athletic, hot chick in high school that won student government posiitons because everyone wanted to be her friend...she really had no substance, but the lure of her “in-crowd” was too irresistable to actually vote for the smart, level-headed geek that would work hard for the school...
Obama is the media-created “pretty girl” no substance, and the radical Muslim and Communist influences he tries to suppress from public view.
Hussein has no ads in Southwest Va TV. There are heavy McCain ads
McCain is coming tomorrow.
Hs Hussein got it in the bag or has he given up in Southwest Va ?
They why aren't they committed to McCain? If they're opposed to Obama and still uncommitted then I'd say they're more likely to stay home on Tuesday.
Virginia who gave us such men as Patrick Henry, George Washington and Tomas Jefferson might save the day once again and go for McCain. Let us pray this is so. Let them lead the way in turning back this poser called Obama. The nations salvation may well be in the good hearted and common levelheaded states of the old Confederacy. This might give new meaning to the phrase “ The South shall rise again”.
I saw lots of that this weekend! Even out in front of church this morning. Thanks for doing that.
No way 0 is going to take this state. He may take NOVA (Transplanted northern libs) and a part of the urban “Hood” areas but the ‘burbs and rural areas will trump those.
The UD will not break to the “One” either.
My pleasure!!!! =)
Dick and others are right, if someone hasn’t made their mind up for Fauxbama by now, after 18 months and 1/2 BILLION DOLLARS, they are not very likely to do so in the next 48 hours. Undecideds are going to break overwhelmingly for McCain, not just in VA, but across the country.
If you aren’t deciding until that moment in the voting booth, you are going to overwhelmingly go with the known entity and the least risk, and that’s McCain.
People who have not made a decision may be either drunk, high or not showing their cards. Some may not want a stupid pollster to know what they are thinking because the pollster has their phone number.
