Pennsylvania Republicans highlight Wright in last-minute ad (the last minute hat trick :))
cnn ^

CNN) – With Pennsylvania's developing status as a must-win battleground for John McCain, the state GOP launched a last-minute television ad there highlighting Barack Obama's relationship with the Rev. Jeremiah Wright.

"If you think you could ever vote for Barack Obama, consider this: Obama chose as his spiritual leader this man," the ad's narrator says, before clips of Wright's controversial statements are shown.

"Does that sound like someone who should be president?" the ad continues.

The party did not release the extent of the ad buy, but defended the decision to air it.

"We feel that it is necessary that the American people remember that Obama sat in a church and listened to this man preach hate for many, many years," said a statement posted on the state party's Web site. "What does that say about his judgment? Do we want the next President of the United States to have spent years listening to hateful rhetoric without having the good judgment to walk out?"

McCain has said he does not believe Obama's relationship with Wright should be an issue in the campaign — to the ire of some Republicans, who feel it raises questions about the Illinois senator's judgment.

In an interview last month, Republican VP candidate Sarah Palin seemed to suggest Wright was a fair issue to raise, but that the final decision was McCain's.

"[Obama] sat in the pews for 20 years, and heard Reverend Wright say some things that most people would find a bit concerning. But again that is John McCain's call," said Palin

That’s is AWESOME. You could use similar words about several State GOP Chairs. We need to clean house.

"McCain has said he does not believe Obama's relationship with Wright should be an issue in the campaign —"

It sure as hell does. It's a matter of PATRIOTISM.

The RNC and McCain don't get it. The basic fundamental qualification of an American President is patriotism.

they should run wright ads, murtha redneck/racist ads, and run the clinging to guns/religion ads!

tri-factor strategy of win!

The message is more effective when communicated in English.

Mid-southern Illinois is also coal country... doubt that their votes could overcome the graft of the Cook County night of the living dead voters, however

.

McCain should have been hitting Obama with Wright from the beginning. Also, Ayers, Frank Davis, and all his other racist, Communist, Muslim and America-hater associates- then maybe we wouldn’t be in the throes of a Communist coup.

The UMW is worthless. Their leadership have endorsed 0bama. Running the Wright ads, and if a 527 can get the 'coal ad' out in play here (RustBelt) is the only hope.

FWIW, even though the United Mine Workers, Teamster, etc., ha ve endorsed 0bama...I can't see their rank and file pulling the lever for BH0.

I worked this afternoon...but hubby and boys were channel surfing football games (our Stillerz play on MNF). The 'WrightAd' was all over the place all the time. YES!!!

Wright is a hate monger and Obama is his stooge. Obama stayed there to get Wright to help him get elected.

Good to hear. In Virginia the RNC is running an ad saying "Would you get on an airplane if the pilot had never flown? Would you go under the knife with a surgeon who never practiced medicine? Will you turn our country over to a man who's never been in charge of anything?" Very effective commercial! :-)

Just saw the Wright ad played in Tallahassee Florida during prime time. During CBS’s “Amazing Race”, to be exact.
