Zomblog has obtained an extremely rare copy of the first issue of Osawatomie, a newspaper published by the Weather Underground in 1975. Noteworthy passages are reproduced below, along with exact transcriptions. The full pages, with each passage in context in high resolution, are found at the bottom of this post.
Much of Osawatomie, which was written at a time when the Dohrn-Ayers wing of the Weather Underground was transitioning from terrorism to “working from the inside” for revolution, concerns itself with the need to encourage “organizers” who will work in “communities” and use “audacity” to bring about “socialism” in America.

Great post. No denying the resemblance between the WU logo and Obama’s logo. So he really means it, doesn’t he, when he says he will change the world!
Yeah, the article is scary. Some really top-notch comments after the article, worth reading through. People lamenting the cult-factor; very worrisome but some encouragement, as well. This election is the most frightening thing I have ever experienced, moreso than 9-11.
Reading this, it is absolutely undeniable that Obama’s “community activism” and connection with Ayers is not “just someone in the neighborhood”.

Well, on both you’ve got the top half consisting of concentric semicircles with almost identical proportions. The striped area on the logo on the right is similar to the bands that are used in the upper half of the logo on the left. If you consider all the possible choices that could have been made for a logo—a rectangle, square, triangle, an asymmetrical shape, and so on—there are more similarities than differences.
