My friends, it's John McCain, live from New York, just three days before the election. Aides to the Republican presidential candidate said Friday that McCain will make a detour from battleground states to appear on "Saturday Night Live," the late-night show that has been a must-watch for many during the political season.
Hosting the show this Saturday is actor Ben Affleck, a supporter of Democratic candidate Barack Obama. The musical guest is singer David Cook.

How many moons in your sky, Skippy?
I don’t intend to watch either, but please note that apparently tonight SNL is going to “savage” Keith Olbermann. I will look forward to the reports tomorrow, but I read that they are going to do a mock “Countdown” segment and really trash the man.
Just one. How many in yours? (no need for you to answer).
The best days of SNL are long gone. 1975-1984 were the golden years. Today, it’d only worth it for appearances such as politicians.
“’Saturday Night Live,’ the late-night show that has been a must-watch for many during the political season.”
That’s sad. Even when I was ten and Dana Carvey was doing his maniacal and hilarious Bush I impression, I knew the show was just something silly to go to sleep by. And now they don’t even have Dana Carvey.
McCain and David Cook on SNL—ping! Maybe McCain will bring a friend??
Keith Olbermann
Now I’d pay a nickel to see his head in a jar.
McCain’s handlers really made a sacrificial lamb of Sarah Palin on her last outing on SNL. They gave her the “full treatment” and she fell right into their trap.
Her negatives predictably went way up. I can’t believe how dumb Sarah Palin’s handlers have been.
I agree completely.
Just one? Can you see it from the basement?
He's been hitting the bottle hard regularly ever since the breakup with his lover, Matt Damon.
Word is even in his intoxicated state he was intimidated on the SNL set by...Keith Overbite.
Please remove your tin foil hat long enough to make some sense. What are you talking about?
Speaking of Palin, I just got a call stating that she will be in Colorado Springs on Monday the 3rd. Is that for sure?
With what - a feather duster??
Love to see it, but I'd be shocked if Herr Overbite actually and truly got rocked.
Agreed. : )
100% agree!
And I have a gut feeling about Tuesday - I'm not complacent or over-optimistic, but...
I think we're going to win BIG.
Just a prediction: Ben Affleck will be loaded for bear (lots of anti-Palin jokes) and will also attempt to embarrass John McCain in order to score brownie points with his Hollywood friends.
Why McCain bothers with this show is beyond me.

I humbly disagree. Aside from Bill Murray, who in my opinion is the greatest of all castmembers, the much-vaunted “Golden Years” cannot match the halcyon days of ‘87-’94. I don’t say this because that cast (or those casts) coincidentally hit me when I was most ripe. As I measure it, the prime SNL audience is 14-18 years of age, and in that window I had to sit throught the awful Will Ferell years. So there.
As Chris Rock so aptly put it (paraphrasing), if the show wasn’t at its peak in that era, why on earth would Rob Schnieder still be a movie star?
