Wonkette Suggests Trig Wishes He Was Aborted
NewsBusters ^ | Mark Finkelstein

There really are no words, though I suppose we'll manage to find some. Wonkette, which bills itself as "the DC Gossip," and is the creation of Ana Marie Cox, now gone on to bigger things at Time, has this photograph up of Trig Palin, dressed for Halloween as an elephant and being held in the loving embrace of one of his sisters. [H/t reader Damian G.]

Wonkette appends this comment, suggesting—and there really is no way to sugar coat it— that given the choice Trig would wish he had been aborted:

"I truly believe that the handicapped and mentally challenged people around us are all angels sent from heaven to help show us the way here on Earth."

Perfect description.

I was just about to post the comment from John T. Bissell but the tears prevented me from doing it sooner. Perhaps he gave others pause as the comments seem to have diminished.

A dear friend of mine said farewell to his mongoloid brother this week. He was the family mascot and the joy of his parents in their old age. He was their angel and now he is with them among the angels. He was a blessing to them from the start, not a curse. I have no doubt that had they been given the choice they would have made the same one Sarah Palin made.

As my friend would say, ‘these people have no souls.’ I would concur-they’ve surrendered whatever divinity they have to their cult of celebrity.

Last night I happen to be in front of a TV at a home I was visiting during a Halloween event and Hardball was on. One of the guys from the Morning Joe show was doing a piece on the Upper West Side of Manhattan. He was wearing a McCain/Palin t-shirt and trying to sell others to people who were walking by.

The hatred shown towards the reporter for wearing the shirt was stunning...but it was the words about Republicans and Conservatives that blew me away.

There were a few women who said they would never associate with a conservative or republican and most surely would never be friends with one as they are disgusting empty spectors.

You know...my heart really went out to New Yorkers on 9-11.

Not any longer. The feeling has almost become mutual. I have tons of family up there but never would they wish death on me or deny being friends with me...yeah I have plenty of liberal relatives...New Jersey, New York, Connecticut...it’s what you get.

But a real disturbing and horrid tide has turned with liberals in this country and they aren’t afraid to show it...they would rather us be dead or unborn period.

These people have short memories and live in Utopia...they can rot in their socialist hell that their dear leader will put them in over the next 4 years.

There was a Down syndrome man who lived in Gladstone, Michigan, a town in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan. His name was Mark and he was family to just about everyone in town. In his younger days he would zip around town in a Superman outfit and would play bongo drums for anyone that wanted to listen. He delivered newspapers, bagged groceries, and participated in pub sing-a-longs. He also volunteered everywhere. Everyone had their own personal Mark stories. When he died a few years ago it was the biggest funeral ever held in the Upper Peninsula. The tributes that were left on the funeral home website brought tears and stories of joy to the thousands that read them. I heard that someone is making a book about it.

They resent Sarah and Trig because Sarah is every bit the hard working mover/shaker they want to be, and she had her babies. Wonkette types are resentful because they aren’t as successful, and also because many of them had abortions, and I have to believe that deep down they know just how awful an act it was that they committed. Their self-loathing comes through as hatred of Sarah for not making the mistakes they made.

While watching Greta last night, Trig was smiling from ear to ear while being cared for by his sister.

Form your own opinions as to what creates a smile!!!!!

"that given the choice Trig would wish he had been aborted: "

The mothers of these demented people must have been conservatives...otherwise they might all have been aborted.

But remember, they don't want to give up their money or their lives...just the money and lives of others.

This philosophy is not her invention. Google ‘wrongful birth lawsuits’ if you want see how degenerate some of our society has become.

I’m in shock at the depravity of the comments on that blog. My feeling is these people had rotten childhoods and they are sickened at the thought of someone actually being happy.

To whom it may concern:

I was recently made aware of a web blog authored by an employee of Time Magazine, Ann Marie Cox, that sarcastically states downs-syndrome afflicted Trig Palin "must be so glad he wasn’t aborted". I find this highly offensive and cannot believe that a magazine as prestigious as Time would employ someone who openly demonstrates such a lack of compassion. This is the first time I've ever I written a letter to the editor but felt it was necessary to defend someone who cannot defend himself. I realize that the offensive content was written on Ms. Cox's personal blog, not endorsed by Time, but I think you should consider examining your association with her.

Sincerely,

XXXXXXXXX

Salisbury, NC
