The Department of Health has released a statement about Senator Barack Obama's official birth certificate.
There have been talk among some chat rooms that Senator Obama was not born in Hawaii, or even America for that matter, and therefore is ineligible to run for the office of President.
There have been various requests for copies of his Hawaii birth certificate to the Department of Health, all which have to be turned down.
"State law (Hawai'i Revised Statutes §338-18) prohibits the release of a certified birth certificate to persons who do not have a tangible interest in the vital record," said DOH Director Chiyome Fukino.
"Therefore, I as Director of Health for the State of Hawai'i, along with the Registrar of Vital Statistics who has statutory authority to oversee and maintain these type of vital records, have personally seen and verified that the Hawai'i State Department of Health has Sen. Obama's original birth certificate on record in accordance with state policies and procedures."
Fukino adds that no state leaders, including Governor Lingle, has asked the certificate be handled in any way different from any one else's vital records in state possession.
Or Malcolm X (born Malcolm Little) or Unknown.
they were born here on this soil. That’s the differnece
Every citizen in this nation has a tangible interest in that birth record, you dear darling official ladies of the Aloha State. They shame the memory of Queen Liliuokalani with this malfeasance of officials in order to protect the powerful and keep the low broken.
“There IS no sex..(with Monica Lewinsky)...”

“State law (Hawai’i Revised Statutes §338-18) prohibits the release of a certified birth certificate to persons who do not have a tangible interest in the vital record,”
Dear Clueless;
There are 350 Million Americans who have a “tangible interest in the vital record,...” especially if it doesn’t exist.
We need to send Sandy Berger to Hawaii - he’ll get the birth certificate.
Anybody who would knowingly allow the issue of his birth cert, interfere with his run for prez. is most definetly NOT qualified to be prez.

If it is such a waste of time, why are you even on this thread???
Why didn’t the director come out and just put it to bed? Yes we have the birth certificate and Obama is a natural born citizen...
How is gramma doin’ by the way? Any news?
Who’s keeping records on where all those “under $200 donations” are going?
Words, just words! Questions, just questions!
“You are not an interested party you do not have access to the records. Can you imagine the increased identity theft if anyone could see anybodys birth certificate?”
Every American citizen is an, “Interested party.”
Forgot!
Pie, just pie!
The people of the United States of America have a “tangible interest” in knowing that their president is a natural-born citizen.
Obama’s refusal to submit his birth certificate to a Pennsylvania court is highly suspicious. It is a simple matter to produce a birth certificate. That he rallied his army of expensive lawyers to fight that request raises a BIG RED MARXIST FLAG!
I thought he was born here. DOH!...
>>>Have any presidential candidates ever released their birth certificates to the general public?
John McCain.
I have a basic issue with this, and it goes beyond Barack Obama, because this is a Constitutional issue.
I agree with many people who maintain we shouldn’t waste our time on it, etc. True enough, but there is no reason we cannot multitask to include this.
I have an issue with this because the Constitution of the United States states in Section I article II: “No Person except a natural born Citizen, or a Citizen of the United States, at the time of the Adoption of this Constitution, shall be eligible to the Office of President; neither shall any Person be eligible to that Office who shall not have attained to the Age of thirty five Years, and been fourteen Years a Resident within the United States”
This is not a privacy issue. It is not a State Rights issue. It is a CONSTITUTIONAL issue. As a citizens of this country, we should DEMAND this document be made public, not just because of Barack Obama, but because of the increasing numbers of people we are likely to see in the years ahead running for office who DO NOT meet this Constitutional requirement.
There are people who think this requirement is archaic, and there are many who wish to it dropped. I think John Jay was right on the money when he suggested that it might not be a good idea to let foreigners run for the office of the Presidency. His concerns back then are just as legitimate today. The Founding Fathers had given deep consideration to the structure of the government and the drafting of the Constitution, and this requirement is no exception.
I do not want to see us four years, eight years or twelve years from now wondering about the origin of a demagogue running for the Presidency, only to be told that the state holding the birth certificate has decided not to release the document because (INSERT WHATEVER DAMNED REASON HERE THEY WISH TO INVENT)
If some State official decides they want a given alien to be President, they will be able to use this approach.
It could go to the Supreme Court packed with liberal, activist judges and they could legitimately look back at this as a legal precedent to uphold that state’s actions.
So yeah, we should all be focused on his Marxism, socialism, untrustworthiness, racism, atheism and penchant for hanging out with terrorists, but this issue is important too.
As Ann Coulter suggests, if you concede the foundation of a lie to liberals, they will build an impregnable castle on the foundation of that concession.
This is no different.
