MLK Jr Close Relative will not vote/support Obama!!!
Freeper Exclusive | October 31, 2008 | Vanity

Posted on 10/31/2008 11:13:45 AM PDT by topher

Who would Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., vote for in this election? Would it be Obama?

The niece of Martin Luther King, Jr., in telling her grandparents about abortion, found out how strongly they objected to her two abortions.

Her web page seems to speak for the King family by its name: www.KingForAmerica.com She also has authored a book about her father (A. D. King) and her uncle Martin (MLK Jr.), namely Sons of Thunder.

In a sense, Dr. Alveda King made it clear her position to Democratic politicians in Denver during the Democratic Convention. She was speaker at a prayer vigil at an abortion clinic that Archbishop Chaput of Denver attended. (For more on this story, see Archdiocese of Denver to hold prayer vigil at largest abortion facility in U.S.

The parents of Martin Luther King, Jr., were strongly opposed to abortion. They could not support a strongly pro-abortion candidate for president -- even if that person is the first African-American candidate of a major party (Democrat or Republican).

Dr. Alveda King, like Martin Luther King, Jr., is a pastor and an activist for just causes. Just as MLK, Jr., has fought for Civil Rights, Alveda has fought for the rights of the unborn.

Alveda refers to Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., as "Uncle Martin".

An interesting question is who Martin Luther King (III) will vote for this election. He is a man of integrity like his father Martin Luther King, Jr., or is he like the wishy-washy politicians that will prostitute themselves to get something they want.

If Martin Luther King III decides to vote for Obama, he may saddened his departed father and grandparents by such a vote.

Such a vote for Obamais for the continued killing of African-American children -- at a rate much than those of white or Hispanic children.

Abortion among African-Americans is 40%. For people of other races it is only 30%.

One this account, Congressman John Lewis of Georgia has betrayed the African Americans of the United States. He has been a staunch supporter of abortion -- even though he fought for Civil Rights in the 1960's.

This is hypocracy for Congressman John Lewis.

Will Martin Luther King (III) follow the hypocracy of Congressman John Lewis of Atlanta or will he follow in the work of his cousin Alveda King.

Maybe the major media should ask Dr. Alveda King and Martin Luther King (III) where they stand in terms of who they vote for president.

Will vote based on race and against principles? Or will they vote based on principles and not vote for Obama?

At the time of the Democratic Convention in August, Dr. Alveda King and Archbishop Chaput of Denver were part of a prayer rally outside an abortion clinic at the time of the Democratic National Convention. They were sending a clear message to pro-abortion politicians that abortion is wrong!!!

I pray that this thread will be allowed great visibility. Many Americans would question voting for Obama knowing how a close relative of Martin Luther King, Jr., would vote.

Obama and the law by Thomas Sowell is an article that exposes the type of courts and laws that Barack Obama wants for us. As Thomas Sowell writes “Do we really want judges who decide cases based on who you are, rather than on the facts and the law?”

Obama: Fundamental Change? Count on It by David Limbaugh provides a scary account of how Obama’s promised changes could lead to entrusting this man with unprecedented power, giving him a license to operate with minimum scrutiny and an opposition party effectively impotent to oppose his radical blueprint for America.

Obama and “The Left” by Thomas Sowell is an article that explores how some people who see the fraud in what Obama is saying are amazed that others do not. Sowell explains how Obama knows what con men have long known, that their job is not to convince skeptics but to enable the gullible to continue to believe what they want to believe.

I am pleading with you to keep this as breaking.

Maybe the major news services will pick up the story...

When I worked at Priests for Life, I helped Dr. Alveda King with her laptop. Christian ministers are not necessarily "computer wizzes, and their time is better spent saving souls (and not laptops).

So please keep this on Breaking/Front Page...

I came across this great article the other day, and submit it for the perusal of all who might find it of interest. It is entitled: “Why Martin Luther King was Republican.” It was written a few years ago.

Another reason to keep this thread breaking...

I was unaware of this...

In Archbishop Chaput's recent book, he spoke of the courage of people like MLK, Jr. and how that is needed within the Christian Church.

I guess Martin Luther King was aware of how the first Republican president (Lincoln) had worked with African Americans and was responsible (with others) of ending slavery...

I'm afraid that Ms. King will be very much in the minority in her family. While most Blacks do not know it (and therefore what Ms. King cannot tell them) is that MLKJr. was not a "born-again chr*stian" at all but a preacher of the secular "social gospel." Alveda King is a "born-again chr*stian" which is why she differs with the rest of the family, but so far as I know the rest of the King family is solidly behind the entire leftist program, from abortion to homosexual "marriage."

The attempt to rehabilitate MLKJr. after his death and make him a conservative is, to my mind, a mistake (though understandable since it took Dr. King to do what should have been done decades earlier by Republicans). Just as white Fundamentalists have a need to see the Founding Fathers as "born-again" "spirit-filled" Baptists, so American Black Fundamentalists insist on believing the same thing about King. Unfortunately, while the deism and rationalism of the Founding Fathers has been exposed time and time again, the fact that both liberals and conservatives want the political support of Fundamentalist Blacks insures that his own liberal approach to religion remains a taboo subject.

Thank G-d for Alveda King, but she is very much isolated in her family, unfortunately.

I've often thought MLK would be in total disagreement over all Obama stands for.

From my personal dealings with Alveda, the parents of Martin Luther King Jr. were solidly against abortion.

Dr. Alveda King is a Democrat and Liberal. That is clear if you visit your website...

Since she is part of various pro-life groups (Silent No More Awareness and Priests for Life), she would be a hypocrite if she even considered voting for Obama.

The head of Priests for Life, Father Frank Pavone, had as his heroes Mohatma Ghandhi and Martin Luther King, Jr.

So clearly, without the pro-life question, he would probably lean more to the left than where he stands now...

In a sense this all about voting for someone just because he is black (African American -- which is term Alveda would want me to use).

There are many liberals ignoring all other questions about Obama and voting for him JUST because he is black...

Of course, there are those who will vote against him because he is black.

But it gets down to should one vote for someone based on ethnicity. His cousin Odinga in Kenya was done on that basis -- and that resulted in ethnic Civil War, aka the machete thugs...

If what Archbishop Chaput wrote about him makes Martin Luther King, Jr., as a person of convictions and of courage, then I would definitely agree with you.

For the same reason MLK Jr. went to Birmingham and was put in jail, he would oppose Obama.

That is why Thomas More is so important in history.

He was a person of conviction. If King Henry VIII could get him to acknowledge his divorce, then the King did not need the Vatican support.

Thomas More never caved in, and was brutally killed for his conviction. And King Henry VIII was forced to found the Church of England.
