Brunner says elections officials ready to handle heavy voter turnout

COLUMBUS — Secretary of State Jennifer Brunner wanted to convince Ohio voters that elections officials are ready to handle a presidential election that Brunner predicts will see a turnout of 80 percent of the state's 8.3 million registered voters.

Shortly after Brunner's press conference, Deputy Ohio Republican Chairman Kevin DeWine charged that because of the Democratic secretary of state's political maneuvering there's no reason to be confident.

DeWine linked Brunner to Karyn Gillette, a former Brunner campaign consultant who was cited in testimony from a "whistleblower" in a lawsuit filed by the Pennsylvania Republican Party against ACORN, the Association of Community Organizations for Reform Now, charging voter registration fraud.

"We think this information shakes the very foundation of confidence in the integrity of the election and every Ohioan should question whether Jennifer Brunner is actively concealing fraud in an effort to cover for her partisan allies," DeWine said.

Gillette now is development director for Washington, D.C.-based Project Vote, a voting rights group that has worked with ACORN. Anita Moncrief, the so-called whistleblower, had worked for Project Vote but was fired after using a Project Vote credit card for personal items.

Moncrief asserted in a hearing that she was told Democrat Barack Obama's campaign provided its campaign donor list to Project Vote to use for its own fundraising activities. Ben LaBolt, Obama campaign spokesman, said the Obama campaign did not provide the list to ACORN or Project Vote.

Sean Smith, Obama's Pennsylvania campaign spokesman, said anyone could download a list of Obama's donors from the Internet.

If this was still a country based on law and order, Ms. Brunner would have been in jail by now.

8.3 million registered voters, population 11.5 million...how many of those registered voters live in other states, are post-respiratory, or never existed at all except in the imagination of an ACORN worker?

“Sean Smith, Obama’s Pennsylvania campaign spokesman, said anyone could download a list of Obama’s donors from the Internet” isn’t this only true for donations given in increments over $200?

Acorn Whistleblower Moncrief worked for Karyn Gillette at ACORN...Karyn Gillette was Jennifer Brunners “very helpful” campaign consultant, mentioned in an interesting blog note, that has Jen working out of her office and going to a ballgame:

“Posted by Rick Brunner - April 11, 2006 11:51 PM It was one of those wonderful afternoons when you feel really privileged to be able to be playing “hooky” from the office. Our candidate had gone earlier in the day to have some meetings and work out of Karyn Gillette’s office, but when your correspondent arrived in his S-10 pickup truck, our staff person, Lauren, drove that back to Columbus, while we continued on to dinner with Craig Bashiene and John Lancione. We were accompanied by our consultant, Karyn Gillette. Karyn and her business partner, Mary Grace, have been very helpful to the campaign.”

Flash forward to:

“Ms. MonCrief testified that in November 2007 Project Vote development director Karyn Gillette told her she had direct contact with the Obama campaign and had obtained their donor lists. Ms. MonCrief also testified she was given a spreadsheet to use in cultivating Obama donors who had maxed out on donations to the candidate, but who could contribute to voter registration efforts. Project Vote calls the allegation “absolutely false.”

Flash forward to Ohio vote fraud: http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/content/article/2008/10/29/AR2008102904545.html

The vitriol over voting increased this week when the Ohio Republican Party released a statewide radio ad that opens with the ticking of a clock and asks, “Could Ohio’s election be stolen?” The ad will run up to 20 times a day in some markets and accuses Democratic Secretary of State Jennifer Brunner of failing to fight voting fraud.

Flash forward to;

“The import of Moncrief’s testimony is that Obama’s campaign was sharing its most updated donor information with ACORN at the crucial pre-primary time. How much of that information was used by ACORN to gain donations then used to propel Obama’s successes in the winter and spring primaries? Heidelbaugh went on to explain that the key ACORN witness disappeared during the hearing after Moncrief’s testimony. She said, “The key piece of this, before we started the hearing, ACORN’s attorney, Catherine Simpson, again before we started the hearing, said one of her witnesses was going to be Karyn Gillette, Anita’s supervisor. After Anita said on the stand that Obama’s campaign contacted Karyn Gillette — Karyn Gillette was gone. She wasn’t in the courtroom. She wasn’t put up on the stand. Why? Because I would have asked her and she would have been under oath and she would have had to answer. What happened to Karyn Gillette?” - Connie Hair

Hahahahaha. Has anyone looked around Jennifer Brunners office?
