I just wrote to Rev. Manning; if I hear anything, I’ll post it.
The year as a "community organizer" in Harlem is mentioned in his book, and has been written about elsewhere.
A year after he graduated from Columbia, Obama spent a year as an organizer for the New York Public Interest Group (NYPIRG) at the City College of New York in Harlem.
PIRG is a corrupt college-based Nader organization that supposedly lobbies for environmental causes. "Organizers" are essentially door-to-door fund-raisers, and it has no connection to ACORN.
