Windflier commented that the citizenship requirements for senator were probably like that of POTUS.

Now, now, now. I never said that. What I said is that, "I'll bet dollars to donuts that there's a clause in the Constitution about that too."

Even without knowing the exact statute, I'd already guessed that the eligibility requirements would probably be different - but that there would probably be something in the Constitution referring to a Senator's eligibility in relation to his citizenship status.

It turns out that there is, although it's not nearly as strict as that for the office of President.

Please, please excuse me for making any assumptions about your original statement. Seemed to me we were pretty much discussing eligibility regarding birthplace/citizenship.
