Despite Barack Obama's approval of abortion and homosexual activism, new polling by a prestigious Christian research group indicates that the Democratic presidential nominee is making significant inroads among voters who are classified as "born-again" Christians.
The Barna Group for research says Obama is statistically tied (43 percent to 45 percent) with Republican John McCain among born-again Christian voters. "Born-again Christians" are defined by Barna as people who say they have made a personal commitment to Jesus and believe they will go to heaven because they have confessed their sins and accepted Jesus Christ as their savior. Based on that definition, 48 percent of all voters in this election will be "born-again" Christians.
Meantime, Barna says 63 percent of "evangelicals" are supporting McCain, while 23 percent are supporting Obama. "Evangelicals" meet the "born-again" criteria, plus seven other conditions, including the belief that salvation is only possible through grace, not works.
According to Dave Kinnaman, president of The Barna Group, born-again Christians voting for Obama say they are backing the Illinois senator because they believe he will do a better job restoring America's reputation and handling the economy and agree with his stance on the Iraq War.
"People in their 20s or 30s who are born-again Christian are more likely to support Senator Obama than Senator McCain, compared to people who are older born-again Christians, who are more likely to support the Arizona senator," he explains. "So, when you look at it, it's a pretty complex set of reasons, and each person comes to this voting decision with their own unique sensibility, but what's interesting is the Christian community, compared to previous elections, is more open to this Democratic candidate than we've seen in at least the last couple national elections."
Kinnaman says it is important to keep in mind that only one in every ten voters is an evangelical Christian with a biblical worldview and understanding of what it means to be a follower of Christ.
I really pray that’s going to come true for them. It’s time.
Understand.

How does your son know anyone is a democrat or republican? Who in Middle school that he knows can vote? Are these issues really talked about? Just wondering. It is a good thing if kids are talking about the issues, but what does it really matter if they can’t vote. I suppose one could say it is how their parents would vote. Interesting.
It’s definitely a reflection of how the parents vote.
However, most California kids don’t like the war and are into the environment.
Does not matter if you are dem or rep, if you support abortion rights, you do not have the Spirit of Christ within you...they can call themselves whatever they want, but it aint Christian.
seems there is a new age group that asks the question? can you be a Christian without Christ???
If they are voting Democrat any way shape or form then they do not have the Spirit of Christ within them.
Abortion being the #1 issue for sure, but there are others just as equal.
When you vote dem, you are saying you do not want the name of Jesus mentioned in the public square. It means you approve of the homosexual lifestyle being taught to children as a legit lifestyle. It means you support gay marriage!!! YES IT DOES!!! because you are saying you want more Ruth Bater Ginsburgh`s (sp) on the court, whom Obama said was one of his favorites.
It`s also not a stretch to say, if you vote democrat you approve of Jesus on a cross in a glass of urine, as being art..they call it pisschrist.
If you vote Democrat, it means you basically have no respect for God/Christ whatsoever.
If you vote democrat, you approve of private property being taken from one and given to another.
If you vote Democrat you approve of God being taken out of the pledge, and In God we Trust, off of the dollar.
I could go on and on!!!
If you vote Democrat you do not have the Spirit of Christ within you!!!
They can call themselves whatever they like, but it is not Christian.
Bingo! These are the “Jesus was a socialist” types. Lukewarm and fallen away.
Maybe they are like the Christian Democrat movement in Europe?
Or, maybe they are just stoopid.
I dunno...
Is his name written in the Lamb’s Book of Life?
Many politicians will say they are born again just to get votes.
Lots of folks WILL one day hear Jesus say, Depart from Me, I never knew you.

The poor deluded fools who voted for The Fake One will be lining up in droves to take the mark of the beast.
Won’t be long now.
TOO TRUE.
As their patriotic “Christian” duty.
I think it was on here or ATS where I read a thread of a “CHRISTIAN” PROUDLY BRAGGING ABOUT INJECTING THE CHIP IN HIMSELF AND DERIDING CHRISTIANS WHO THOUGHT IT WAS THE MARK OF THE BEAST.
WHAT UTTER CLUELESSNESS!
Truly, God has given over many to the delusions their rebellions and idolatries have begged for.
Satan will do his best to deceive even believers.
When Jesus returns, will He find faith on the earth?
Everything is suspect these days but if you consider that many black-Americans may call themselves born-again that would bump up the percentage of “born-again” Obama supporters considerably. Also, wet-behind-the-ears young people are especially vulnerable to the romanticism of liberalism. I too was a liberal till I was about 27, then I turned conservative with a vengeance.
The story is total bullshit,2nd DivisionVet.
No individual that is truly born again [to wit] reedeemed by the shed Blood of Jesus supports obama or anyone that is against everything Almighty God stands for.
