WASHINGTON Democratic presidential candidate Barack Obama was less than upfront in his half-hour commercial Wednesday night about the costs of his programs and the crushing budget pressures he would face in office. Obama's assertion that "I've offered spending cuts above and beyond" the expense of his promises is accepted only by his partisans. His vow to save money by "eliminating programs that don't work" masks his failure throughout the campaign to specify what those programs are beyond the withdrawal of troops from Iraq. A sampling of what voters heard in the ad, and what he didn't tell them: THE SPIN: "That's why my health care plan includes improving information technology, requires coverage for preventive care and pre-existing conditions and lowers health care costs for the typical family by $2,500 a year." THE FACTS: His plan does not lower premiums by $2,500, or any set amount. Obama hopes that by spending $50 billion over five years on electronic medical records and by improving access to proven disease management programs, among other steps, consumers will end up saving money. He uses an optimistic analysis to suggest cost reductions in national health care spending could amount to the equivalent of $2,500 for a family of four. Many economists are skeptical those savings can be achieved, but even if they are, it's not a certainty that every dollar would be passed on to consumers in the form of lower premiums. ___ THE SPIN: "I also believe every American has a right to affordable health care."

O sees nothing good in America.
He sees the chickens coming home to roost.
This is Yahoo?
When did Yahoo decide to go straight forward?
I know, hard to believe....
They must figure...only 5 days left...the truth can’t hurt him now....
And even the Associated Press, Mirabile dictu!
Anyone else notice how many writers/media outlets have had a very different tone yesterday and today? Sure, it’s nothing that would exculpate them for their deplorable behavior during this election. However, if it were assured that Obambi is going to win, why not keep driving the nails in the alleged coffin?
I think I smell fear and desperation. Then again, maybe it’s just Eau D’Hippie
The MSM is being contrite now?
Did I just hear the fat lady sing?
Well, the fat lady’s singing abilities are determined by how many of us decide to stave off the destruction of America with one vote apiece.
Since the Dems plan on voting early, often, and fraudulently, we must be diligent in getting to the polls.
But something is in the air....to some it is a sweet smell, to Obama it is a stench.
With the the Dems plan on voting early, often, and fraudulently, how are we gonna combat that, even if we all get thee to the polls?
Don’t mean to be a pessimist, just saying.
Nonetheless, I am hopeful the sweet smell of victory hovers nearby.
We are responsible for creating the victory.
Perhaps this American Blasphemy that is the Obama Machine is what has been needed to wake those who have been silent.
It appears to me that we could easily win if we ALL voted. I think our past presidential election participation statistics have been abysmal.
” think our past presidential election participation statistics have been abysmal.”
God help us, but it may take an Obama victory for us to realize we need to participate fully in order to keep this country wholesome and safe.
No doubt about it, God places our rulers on their thrones (or in their Oval Offices). Biblically, I can see this election going either way. But, God is gracious and long-suffering. So, maybe we will get another chance.
Because, frankly, if the prospect of President Obama doesn’t scare the too-lazy-to-vote out of you, nothing will.
