Bill Clinton Hails Obama as America's Future (+ FL Video, Hurl Alert)

Kissimmee (Orlando) FL - - Portraying harmony like never before, Bill Clinton hailed Barack Obama on Wednesday, a power pairing designed to inspire Democrats already smelling victory. "Barack Obama represents America's future, and you've got to be there for him next Tuesday," Clinton, with Obama at his side, said to the cheers of a partisan crowd. Heaping praise on President Bush's predecessor, Obama said of Clinton: "In case all of you forgot, this is what it's like to have a great president." Obama even prodded the crowd to cheer more, saying "Bill Clinton. Give it up!" And there was Clinton, laughing with gusto every time Obama jokingly mocked rival John McCain. The appearance of the former and would-be president marked the first time they shared a stage in the campaign. It capped one of the most ambitious days of Obama's White House run, including a 30-minute prime-time infomercial in which he tried to seal the deal with voters.

Obama said of the two Clintons: "I am proud to call them my friends." Through the day, in two states, Obama unleashed a bleak portrayal of a McCain presidency and told a national TV audience that "the time for change has come." Ahead in the polls, flush with cash and blanketing himself all over television, Obama said he is counting down the days but not letting up. The election looms on Tuesday. Obama's rare, prime-time infomercial cut live to him appearing at a rally in Sunrise, Fla., where 20,000 packed a hockey arena all the way to the nosebleed seats. "In six days, we can come together as one nation, and one people," Obama said.

10.30.08 Miami Herald, Laura Figueroa: Florida midnight rally drew 35,000 to hear Clinton, Obama - - Former President Bill Clinton stumped alongside Democratic nominee Barack Obama for the first time this campaign season in a late night outdoor rally that attracted more than 35,000 supporters. Taking jabs at Republican nominee John McCain's choice of Sarah Palin as a vice presidential pick and denouncing the last eight years of President Bush's administration, Clinton echoed the rallying cries for ''change'' that have been a trademark of the Obama campaign.

''Folks, we can't fool with this,'' Clinton told the boisterous crowd that braved the chilly conditions at Osceola Heritage Park. ``Our country is hanging in the balance, and we have so much promise and so much peril. This man should be our president.'' Clinton's pitch to voters, whom he described as ''teetering'' between the two candidates, comes at a crucial time at a crucial place for both campaigns. With five days left until the election, both candidates and their high profile surrogates have been crisscrossing the swing state trying to shore votes to declare Florida for their camp. ''I worked hard to bring you back into the Democratic fold,'' Clinton told the crowd, referring to his 1992 and 1996 victories. ``It`s time to come back again so we can move America forward.''

Though Clinton often criticized Obama during the failed democratic presidential primary bid of his wife, Sen. Hillary Clinton, any rifts between the two seemed tossed on the back burner as both men boasted about the other's accomplishments. ''We all wish that the last eight years looked a lot more like the eight years we had when Bill Clinton was in the White House,'' Obama said. With five days looming until the Nov. 4 election, Obama told the riled up crowd they would have to ``work over the next five days like our life depends on it.'' He added;``We have to do everything in our power. . . . We will not just win Florida, we're going to win this election and together, we will change this country and we will change the world.''

Both men took to the stage a little after 11 p.m., the late start due to an earlier Obama rally Wednesday evening in Sunrise at the BankAtlantic Center. Obama is scheduled to attend another rally in Sarasota Thursday morning.

GOPFlOp says: The Rally didn’t start until after 11:00 p.m. I estimate the crowd at 30-32, 000. I think it would have been much larger but it was cold and late on a work-night. Clinton made his best speech I’ve seen in a long time. He really fired up the crowd - much better than Obama’s speech. We diehard Republicans can say what we want about Bill, but in Florida, the man can draw the big crowds and numbers. Last week Hillary and Barack drew the single largest Florida rally crowd of this presidential election. # SNIP #

I’m glad that Bill and Hillary only recently started stumping for/with 0buma in Florida. They are both well liked by many Floridians - particularly Wild Willy among the high net worth Southeast crowd - and can really hurt us at the polls. Clinton is one of only three Presidential Democrats that have won in Florida since 1950. It appears obvious to me/us that 0buma has cut some type of deal with the Clinton’s, if he is elected President.–FlA

But I thought that Obama hadn’t passed his commander in chief test. Hillary said so.

You gotta love politics. We’re supposed to forget everything that was said in the nasty primary fight, and now accept on face value that the Clintons love Obama.

Hillary’s possible future presidential hopes were based on McCain winning this year, so that the Democrat nomination was open in 2012 for her. If Obama wins this year, then he’s running for re-election in 2012, so Hillary will be frozen out of presidential politics until 2016.

Maybe they made a bargain, such as Hillary being appointed to the Supreme Court if Obama wins. Otherwise it’s against the Clintons own desire to return to the White House to have Obama win this election.

Obama has a man he called racist stump for him?

These people have no sense of shame. Clinton should tell him to stick it.

So the Clinton's didn't just all of a sudden get the warm fuzzies for BO. What was the bribe? What deal did Obama cut with them?

Maybe Obama decided to pay off Hillary's campaign debt now. Maybe that's why Obama put out a notice to drum up $5 million more in donations.

Well Bill Clinton and Obama pretty much have the same view of the Constitution:

“When we got organized as a country and we wrote a fairly radical Constitution with a radical Bill of Rights, giving a radical amount of individual freedom to Americans, it was assumed that the Americans who had that freedom would use it responsibly… that they would work for the common good, as well as for the individual welfare… However, now there’s a lot of irresponsibility. And so a lot of people say there’s too much freedom. When personal freedom’s being abused, you have to move to limit it.” – Bill Clinton, April 19, 1995

`If the personal freedoms guaranteed by the Constitution inhibit the government’s ability to govern the people, we should look to limit those guarantees.’’ -- President Bill Clinton, August 12, 1993

``The purpose of government is to reign in the rights of the people’’ –- Bill Clinton during an interview on MTV in 1993

``We can’t be so fixated on our desire to preserve the rights of ordinary Americans…that we forget about reality.’’ -- President Bill Clinton, quoted in USA Today, March 11, 1993, Page 2A, ``NRA change: `Omnipotent to powerful’’’ by Debbie Howlett

Maybe you are right. On the other hand, Bill can easily drum up the money for the campaign debt himself by giving a few speeches. I don't know if money is really the issue. I would be surprised if Hillary has given up on her ambition to be president, so I am equally surprised that Bill appears to be going all out for Obama now, not just going through the motions for a fellow democrat. I think there is most likely “trouble in Paradise” for the Clinton's marriage. He is supporting Obama to spite her.

Our future? No...Ronald Reagan is our future....those are the ideals that work and make our nation the greatest.

Obama is our present..not our future....his ideals will not be the greatest for America...in fact his economic scheme is to freeze economic conditions...you don’t “reform” when times are great...so why would he want to improve capitalism? He doesn’t..he wants it to be much worse so he can “reform...wink wink” which means a transition from capitalism to socialism to communism. Obama is not so much a Marxist as he is a Leninist/Marxist...in which The Leninist branch of Marxism argues that a proletarian revolution must be led by a vanguard of professional revolutionaries. The Vanguard party were “elitists” intellectuals...i.e. Obama and the friends he sought out carefully—his Marxist professors as he so stated in his book. He will use his presidency to transform the economic system from a capitalist to a socialist...As president this won’t take too long. He won’t even have to be very sneaky about it with Reid, Pelosi and Frank there to help him...even those who don’t see it as socialism aren’t going to be able to stop him when it eventually turns to communism because he will have established a system where they will be too frightened to oppose him (if you know what I mean)....thus by the end of his 8 years..the chief comrade of the Vanguard Party to the proletarian revolution will have transformed a capitalistic society into a communistic society and every damn need you have will NEED to be provided by the government...it sets them up to have unlimited and unending power.

Anyone with a job...with dignity...with respect of self should vote ANYTHING but Obama.....otherwise they will only have themselves to blame.

Reality has set in with the Clintons....the world has become “inspired” i.e. fooled beyond belief by Obama...and the nation has too. They realize it’s a force beyond reason (a fairytale as Bill Clinton called it)that even they can not control...so what do they do?

Hillary hasn’t been promised Jack squat.....They are doing this for the same reason every other democrat is doing it.....and why some republicans are considering this bozo....Obama doesn’t promise anyone anything....and he delivers nothing he doesn’t want to deliver. Hillary is an enemy of Obama...no one opposes him and ever lives politically to see a better day...Hillary and Bill are finished politically...they know it...
