Signs posted in front and beside mailboxes at a post office location where I dropped off mail tonight.
If it was at the headquarters of the unions, that'd be one thing. But in this case, would this be considered federal property? Would it be considered election engineering since this is where people will be dropping off vote-by-mail ballots? Should I bother complaining to the post office and registrar of voters? Should I post another vanity?
Enquiring minds yada yada...
BTW, I would have loved to remove those signs tonight. Yesterday, I had filed two police reports on two separate sign-stealing incidents from my front yard (Prop 8, naturally), so I don’t want to been painted as a hypocrite, even though those union signs do not belong on postal property.
Unions don’t have to follow laws.
I did some quick research and would conclude it is a violation of the Hatch Act to post a partisan sign on federal property. If the claim is it is on public property, then see what city rules are.
Contact the Postal Inspection Service to find out for sure. This might get faster action than contacting the Postmaster. The APWU tries to push the envelope - always.
Post a McCain-Palin sign next to it. See what happens.
This makes me very angry. Send the photo via e-mail to your county registrar’s office. And follow-up with a call. Ask to talk to the local Postmaster. Let your local radio station know. And contact your local newspaper. Don’t let them do this to our country.
This is why my husband and I drove to the Registrar to drop off our ballots. I don’t trust our ballots in the hands of the postal workers.
Call the United States Postal Inspection Service.
This is a violation of the Hatch Act, and is a felony.
Just another reason to stop using USPS for anything..... well, hard to avoid them entirely, but I sure do try.
I’d say take it down.
I guess we'll call them the Blue Shirts.
You should print out the law listed in post 26, remove the signs, and tape the law to post office doors.
My husband is a retired US Postal Inspector. That sign is illegal!!! Tell the Postmaster and make sure you mention “Postal Inspectors” for the postal workers can hear. The sign will come down real fast and the APWU can put the sign where the sun don’t shine.
When my wife was a part-time carrier for the Post office, She was TOLD BY THE UNION that she couldn’t have a W-04 sticker on HER car when delivering the mail. I guess the rules a different when your a obama supporter.
change we can choke on!

Where is this? Don’t waste time with the Postmaster. Go straight to Postal Inspection Service. They may even have an office in this facility. Find out from the horses mouth and volunteer to take them down if no one else has time.
San Jose, California. Parkmoor branch.
I am familiar with the area. There are Postal Inspectors at

Did you follow-up on this? If so, what was the outcome?
