McCain: Obama not ready to be commander in chief
Boston Globe ^ | 10/29/08 | Foon Rhee

Posted on 10/29/2008 12:02:30 PM PDT by pissant

Flanked by many of his national security advisers, John McCain this afternoon aggressively challenged Democratic rival Barack Obama's readiness and capacity to be commander in chief.

"These statesmen and those who have joined me here today are supporting my candidacy because we share many of the same convictions, and the same assessment of the national security challenges before our country. And with good reason, they question whether my opponent in this election has the wisdom or judgment to serve as commander in chief," McCain said in Tampa.

He also said that Obama would withdraw from Iraq prematurely. "Victory must still be secured, in Iraq and Afghanistan" McCain said.

Obama's most consequential action on foreign policy was a 2002 speech opposing the Iraq war when he was an Illinois state senator and had "no vote" and "no responsibility."

Since Obama has been in the US Senate -- two years spent running for president, McCain said -- he wrongly opposed the troop surge in Iraq. That's something, McCain said, Obama "hopes in the cloud of crisis at home" that voters will forget.

"But the question is whether this is a man who has what it takes to protect America from Osama bin Laden, al Qaeda, and other grave threats in the world. And he has given you no reason to answer in the affirmative," McCain said. "Senator Joe Biden has a way of straying off message and stumbling on the truth, and his most recent warning bears close attention. He cautioned us -- in fact, he guaranteed his listeners -- that because he is untested Barack Obama would only invite an international crisis."

Have to wonder what those military families are thinking when they support Obama.

The dems want at least a 25% cut in military spending.

That means many thousands of military personnel will be invited out of the military.

With the economy struggling right now, just where are these people going to find jobs.

Added to O’s plan to raise taxes on corporations.......I guess they haven’t figured that out yet.

Too bad John waited to the last minute to start acting like he wants to win this thing by being as frank in talking about a Democrat as he’s been very willing to be regarding Republicans for years.

In my opinion, Mccain should stay away from the unpopular war issue, and rather say something like the following in a Press conference.

I just emailed this recommendation to him & advisers.

My conclusion- We find it IMPERATIVE to hold this Press conference because to the objective mind, in light of the overwhelming, cumulative EVIDENCE laid out today, and this only the tip of the iceberg, that Sen. Obama having an obvious radical leftist, socialist past, in view of his far left, even communist mentors, his extreme attempt to suppress evidence, withholding even basic info., that a loooong list of extremist groups, terror leaders are rooting for his candidacy, that he played a role in funding and getting ACORN to help him deliver new voters, dead or alive, that the MSM has gone to Extreme to refuse to tell the truth to the American people, we conclude that Sen. Barak Hussein Obama has not been properly and sufficiently VETTED and is not qualified to be the Commander-in-chief! However, he is qualified to be the Denier-in-chief! Ask any expert, a man with his radical, heavy BAGGAGE and 20 some years of relationship , alliances with numerous leftists, he would not even pass a low level security CLEARANCE, let alone the POTUS!
He is WAY too risky to be TRUSTED to do the right thing and protect American interest in an international crises, something that Sen. Biden has predicated will happen within 6 months!

We declare the Obama candidacy constitute the greatest threat to this Constitutional Republic and free, capitalist system and must be stopped from reaching the White house bringing with him certainly thousands of extreme, anti-American leftists at ALL levels of government!

We thus call upon the media to IMMEDIATELY LIFT the NEWS BLACKOUT & responsibly report all our concerns and let American voters decide!

Our security is what worries me the most. I doubt BHO even knows the difference between the Navy and the Army!
I just don’t trust our security to total democrat control!

Yeah, it’s a real cliff-hanger, huh?:)

But seriously, now is the time when the maximum number of people are paying attention. That depends also on if and how word of this gets out....

I think McCain's being a little unfair to the Chosen 0ne here.

Obama’s certainly ready to be commander-in-chief of the Iranian armed forces, or perhaps those of Hamas. So let's not write him off entirely. He's qualified in certain areas, even over qualified!

McCain: Obama not ready to be commander in chief

This vacuous statement is beyond ridiculous!

Unless Americans are ready to embrace communism Obomba will NEVER be ready to be commander in chief.

If Americans want to see an end of domestic tranquility then they should go ahead and vote for this piece of totally unknown human debris on November 4.

The campaign of John McCain has done this nation a great disservice because as of today it appears that our nation is on the road to ruin and chaos.
