Recovering Obamaniacs For McCain
NRO ^ | October 29, 2008 | Mark Steyn

Posted on 10/29/2008 9:13:15 AM PDT by RobinMasters

Tina Brown is a New Labour/Democrat limousine liberal but, unlike the Obots running the snore-sheet monodailies, she's an editor first. And so, after the Buckley endorsement of Obama, she now presents Wendy Button, an Obama-Edwards-Clinton speechwriter who's voting for McCain:

Not only has this party belittled working people in this campaign from Joe the Plumber to the bitter comments, it has also been part of tearing down two female candidates. At first, certain Democrats and the press called Senator Clinton “dishonest.” They went after her cleavage. They said her experience as First Lady consisted of having tea parties. There was no outrage over “Bros before Hoes” or “Iron My Shirt.” Did Senator Clinton make mistakes? Of course. She’s human.

But here we are about a week out and it’s déjà vu all over again... Governor Palin and I don’t agree on a lot of things, mostly social issues. But I have grown to appreciate the Governor...

I was dead wrong about the surge and thought it would be a disaster. Senator John McCain led when many of us were ready to quit. Yet we march on as if nothing has changed, wedded to an old plan, and that too is a long way from the Democratic Party.

I can no longer justify what this party has done and can’t dismiss the treatment of women and working people as just part of the new kind of politics. It’s wrong and someone has to say that...

Before I cast my vote, I will correct my party affiliation and change it to No Party or Independent. Then, in the spirit of election 2008, I’ll get a manicure, pedicure, and my hair done. Might as well look pretty when I am unemployed in a city swimming with “D’s.”

How many hundreds, thousands or even millions are likewise seeing the truth that is true.

Not long and we will find out

Tina Brown is being intellectually honest.

Wish other Dems/liberals would do as much.

I’m sure the MSM will be all over this story.

An Obama speech writer is now for McCain. Whenever a person who happens to KNOW a Republican says they are for Obama, it is big news.

Exactly what I had planned for this Friday. Women! Ya’ gotta’ love ‘em! I shall vote in my Sunday best, complimented with a trim at Greatclips and manicure at my nail salon owned and managed by LEGAL immigrants which will not take me out of my seven and a half-mile route to work thereby saving gas and money. Take that all the chauvinistic pigs in the world! ;-)

Exactly. If this situation were reversed, it would be “above the fold” on the NYT and the top news story every hour on CNN, Fox, MSDNC, etc.

I was just reading this morning something about Obama and some sort of controversy, imagine that. Anyway, I started to read the comments, and one person, wrote that he had voted early and now regrets it because of all the stuff thats been in the news lately.

We have to persuade them one on one, because many do NOT watch news except for a brief glance at the alphabet cables, which like alphabet soup are thin, squishey, and totally mixed up.

This morning I talked to an evangelical friend who meant to vote for Obama because she was raised Dem, has always voted Dem, doesn't pay attention to political news.

She said her brother had called her and told her not to vote Dem this time, but she was still uncertain because she just felt funny NOT voting Dem. I explained about Obama's stand on aborted live fetuses, his plans for 401k,s, his disdain for the Constitution, and his closeness to the picture of Hitler taking over Germany.

She said she will definitely not be voting Dem this time, even though she feels funny about it--she is around 50 years old.

Only think how many lifelong Dems there are out there who blindly vote Dem because they ALWAYS have.

I imagine many evangelicals voting Dem are like her--totally uninformed of what they would be doing in casting a vote for Obama.

I was just saying that’s his number one reason for telling people to vote early- not that their “car might break down”.

Obama has disparaged women, regular churchgoers, gun owners, and suburban and rural voters in general. He’s resting his hopes almost exclusively on the urban core of large cities and college towns.

Also, he needs a pretty big margin among women, being the Dem nominee. I’m beginning to wonder if that will happen. Between all the crap with Hillary and now with Gov. Palin being beat up by his friends in the press, there might be a backlash building among women in general. McCain was the one with the stones to select a woman as his running mate and cuts a nice, solid grandfatherly/father image.

Thanks!

I was totally shocked that she would consider Obama as an devout evangelical Christian. The fact is, she was not considering Obama--she was simply voting Dem because that is what she was brought up to be and how she always voted.Multiply her by thousands and it is scarey. l

I'm Barack Obama and I approve these anti-social behaviors [on YouTube 27 seconds long]
