The Crown is round(ish) inside so the crowd is all around him. That's why every now-and-again he turns all the way around.
Bump.
WOW, good speech! ABOUT TIME!! He is hitting outta the park!
Not to be a wet blanket, but it concerns me that we’re having to spend time in North Carolina (Palin will be there Saturday night). That’s one state I wish we already had nailed down.
I live in NC and while on a road trip Sunday, McCain yard signs outnumber Obama something 40 to 1
Road trip didnt take you through Durham, did it?
I agree its worrisome, NC has a huge black population and large number of yankees that have moved in over the last twenty years. That plus NC is one of the few states that Obama overperformed at the ballot box vs late polls in the primaries.
Earlier this week we got in Raleigh a robocall from Roman Gabriel about this event.
From Wiki. I had no idea.
Roman Ildonzo Gabriel, Jr. (born August 5, 1940 in Wilmington, North Carolina) is a former American football player. The son of a Filipino immigrant, he was the first Asian-American to start as an NFL quarterback and is considered by many to have been one of the best players at that position during the late 1960s and early 70s. At 6’4” and 235 pounds, he is considered the first truly big quarterback of the modern era.
A two-time All-American, he starred at quarterback for North Carolina State University in the early 1960s and finished his career holding virtually every Wolfpack passing record. An academic All-American, Gabriel saw his jersey retired and presented to him by North Carolina governor Terry Sanford on Jan. 20, 1962, at half-time of an NC State-Maryland basketball game in Reynolds Coliseum. He was All-America football quarterback twice, Atlantic Coast Conference Player of the Year twice, and captain of his team. Gabriel set 22 school and nine conference football records. He also played baseball and was voted the best amateur athlete in the Carolinas. In a three-year career he passed for 20 touchdowns and ran for 15. Against Maryland in 1959 he completed 23 passes.
The number one A.F.L. draft pick (Roman was chosen second in the N.F.L. draft), by the Oakland Raiders[1], he went on to a distinguished professional career. Gabriel was inducted into the College Football Hall of Fame in 1989.
thank god No Durham, Kinston and greenville, we need to start bulldozing cities and turn it into farm land
