Through Sunday, it appears absentee and early votes have Democrats up by 80,287 votes.
Of the 1,010,046 people who voted early, 53.7 percent were Democrats, 30.19 percent Republicans and 16.02 percent other. Of the 1,059,518 absentee ballots returned so far, 35.31 percent were from Democrats, 50.23 percent Republicans, and 14.46 percent other.
All told, 2,069,564 people have voted already -- 44.33 percent of them Democrats, 40.45 percent Republicans, and 15.22 percent other.
The Obama campaign has spent gazillions on early voting because they’re worried their supporters may be in jail, hung over, whatever, by election day. Unless the people voting early vote again on election day, it means nothing... only the overall total counts.
Frankly, I am surprised there are not bigger early voting margins given how well Kerry did with early voting.
I think so too. My friends and I like to go in person. Sort of a "show of force". :)
Excellent :)
The votes have not been counted. All that has been determined is how many Democrats, Republican, 3rd party/Independents have voted. We do not know for whom any of them have voted.
Did I post the article? NO
Relax. My wife and I are Florida voters and we are waiting until election day. We want to wait for all the Obama kooks to finish and then we will go vote with all the adults.
Do we know what are the actual hard numbers on registered Dems v. Repubs and unaffiliateds in FL at this time? Though FL has been a Republican state for several years I assume it is possible that Demos still have an edge in registration.
Don’t know if I missed it but I am wondering if there have been any polls just among people who have already voted. That Kerry v Bush number of 4 years ago is quite interesting. If the poll was accurate and Kerry was up by 17 then he sure dropped by election day! I wonder how this year’s vote would compare.
It means game over if so
Well it wasn’t to give you a heart attack.
Should have typed D +3.88%. Relax.
Give me a freakin’ break. I have been rather negative lately but ANYONE reading ANYTHING into these early voting numbers and taking anything away from them has got to have their heads examined by a professional.
What’s interesting is the polls use a voter model that favors Dems by up to 15 points. But here we see Reps and Dems voting in equal numbers.
Not to worry. I am a registered Dem and I voted in California for McCain. Party affiliation does NOT tell the whole story!
anyone know why democrats tend to vote early while republicans tend to vote on election date?
Speaking of games...a peek at the radar makes it clear that the World Series game currently in progress will NOT finish tonight. They would try to finish the game tomorrow...if the Rays win; how would THAT affect BO’s infomercial tomorrow night?
Yeah Republicans work.
Obama's been urging them to vote early. I guess it's to demoralize us with the early results.
I voted early on Saturday. I had to wait in line about 45 minutes. I figure McCain spent 5 1/2 years in a Hellhole in Viet Nam for me, I can spend 45 minutes in line for him (and for Sarah!!).
It’s easy to show up and wait in line to vote early when you don’t work and your primary concern is what day will the government check arrive this month. The rest of use working people will vote on election day like we always have.
