Election '08: Barack Obama tells Israel's supporters he's on their side. But he's using the playbook of Yasser Arafat, the Palestinian terrorist who said one thing to the West and another to the radicals who supported him.

As far as we know, Obama never met or publicly supported Arafat. But in 2003 he did attend a farewell party for an Arafat associate. Peter Wallsten reported in April in the Los Angeles Times that Obama was at an event held as a tribute for Rashid Khalidi, an "internationally known scholar, critic of Israel and advocate for Palestinian rights" who was leaving Chicago for a job in New York.

Khalidi has not been accused of terrorism. But it's alleged that he has links to the Palestine Liberation Organization, which has a terrorist pedigree, and he does hold some rather virulent views on Israel, calling it a racist state.

While he has publicly opposed attacking Israeli civilians, Khalidi does, according to accounts of a speech he made to the American-Arab Anti-Discrimination Committee, have a different view of "the ones who are armed, the ones who are (Israeli) soldiers, the ones who are in occupation" of Palestinian lands, because "that's resistance."

Anyone else wonder what will happen when the Likud wins the next Israeli election as is likely to happen?

Will Obama force Netanyahu into negotiating a humiliating agreement? Will he threaten sanctions against Israel? Will Netanyahu accept the Iranian mullahs building a nuke?

I fear relations with Israel will turn very sour.

Heard someone say on a talk show today that a Jew supporting Obama is akin to a Jew negotiating with Hitler on how fast or slow to build concentration camps.

Might be over the top, but I knew exactly what the caller meant when he said it.

"Will Netanyahu accept the Iranian mullahs building a nuke?"

Not unless he has changed drastically.

http://netrightnation.wordpress.com/2008/10/23/prairie-fire-manifesto-from-ayers/

Obama’s boy Bill Ayers dedicates his terrorist book “Prairie Fire” to Sirhan Sirhan - can you believe this ramrod. Check the site - and make sure it gets around.

How is Teddy Kennedy feeling about the new JFK now?

I actually heard that McCain is winning among New York Jews.

Many Jews take Israel-support for granted because they believe that only skinheads, frothing-at-the-mouth Farrakhanists, and bearded Muslims are anti-Zionists.

The ones who survived the Holocaust or who suffered in Arab countries though know better.

A Harvard-educated unity-preaching Obambi could NEVER be anti-Israel! Why, he even wore a kippah on his visit to Israel!!!

Any Jews who vote for Obama have some kind of self-destructive impulse that I just cannot understand.

It’s not just Israel.

But it’s not just Jews. He doesn’t like whites either. We are the oppressors, in his mind. Hateful identity politics have come to a place I never thought I would see in my country.

Last time I looked we still have a democracy here in Israel and the government represents the will of the majority. There is a consensus that we need permanent borders and we’ll give them their population centres. That subject is pretty much settled. What is not settled is Jerusalem. No government will have a majority to make major concessions on that, maybe a bit of nibbling around the edges. The other side is not willing to budge an inch. The whole world can huff and puff but no one is going to blow our house down.

Sadly, since the end of the Cold War, the number of foreign countries whom I feel that America should shed blood in defense of has fallen to one.

It may soon be zero.

Hateful identity politics have come to a place I never thought I would see in my country.

This is not the first time that "hateful identity politics" have been prominent in a presidential election. "Osama" Obama is essentially playing the same race cards that Jesse Jackson and Al Sharpton did in earlier election cycles. The major difference is that Obama is slicker and therefore has been able to get closer to the WH than his predecessors.

Please, far from all American Jews are under the spell of Obama. I don’t think that Hitler carried any support to speak of among German Jews, but obviously many of them underestimated his horrendous destructive potential. Jews in the US today, though, cannot afford to underestimate what ugly “change” an Obama presidency might bring.

Obama, through his “church”, is a big bud with Farrakhan and his wife. I see nothing “Christian” about either the Farrakhans, who hate Jews, or the Reverend Wright, who hates Whitey. - “By their fruits you shall know them”.
