ARLINGTON, VA -- Today, McCain-Palin 2008 released its latest web ad, entitled "Life Savings." The ad features John McCain talking directly to the American people about protecting their life savings at a time of financial crisis. The American people cannot afford Barack Obama's proposed tax increases on savings that will only hurt those saving for their retirement.
What is wrong with him?
McCain should have said the last 2 years have not worked very well, not the last 8 years. Dubya’s economy worked very well except for the brief period right after 9/11.
And the period after Democrats Pelosi and Reid took control of Congress.
I can only say this. I’m glad I have 25 more years to go before retiring. My 401k is down 30% over the last 6 months. Most of this since the bailout plan. Didn’t move my money before the drop, not moving it now. Figure, at the least, I can buy more shares so when and if the price goes up, I’ll have more shares moving that direction.
Obama lovers will shrug this off. If they listened to it, it could anger them.
I would have an attractive 30 something well dressed black man, sitting in his living room, shutting off the TV with the remote.
With a shake of his head he sighs. He leans forward, elbows on knees, hands folded. He says to himself, “I still have many questions about Barack Obama”.
Then he looks straight at the camera in a “person to person” manner, launches into what his main concerns about where we are in the country are -1, 2, 3, 4. (Jobs, high taxes, inflation, national security,)
Then with a smile and a decisive nod of his head, he says, “It still isn’t too late to vote for John McCain.
McCain has a proven record. I think McCain will be better for the country”.
His smile widens as he opens both hands in an inviting gesture.
Fades out to appropriate music.
I think this would have more appeal to an Obama voter. Iy is not combative. He would identify with it, and it plants questions in his mind.
What do you think?
It’s surely much better than having McCain on screen with his preaching tone. It’s probably a generational gap, but I think sometimes McCain does sound like an old grandpa patronizing the yooth.
And your 401k will be gone if Obama is elected President. Was just watching Greta Van Susteren talking to Rush via phone on Fox, and Rush says it's a done deal between Pelosi and Obama to confiscate everyone's 401k and merge it with Social Security. Your 401k would be converted with the value it held as of August 2008. The government would manage your assets, how nice of them to help you spread your wealth.
Just been hearing that today. Gotta spread the word. If they try this, I think they will be rounded up and put out of business. They may wind up with a fillibuster-proof majortiy, but a round in the chamber is a fillibuster in and of itself.
