WEST HOLLYWOOD, Calif. (AP) ― A Halloween decoration showing a mannequin dressed as vice presidential candidate Sarah Palin hanging by a noose from the roof of a West Hollywood home is drawing giggles from some passers-by and gasps of outrage from others.
The mannequin is dressed in brunet wig, glasses and a red business suit. Another mannequin dressed as John McCain emerges from a flaming chimney.
Chad Michael Morisette, who lives in the house, told CBS 2 News that drivers and bus passengers have been stopping to snap pictures of the macabre scene.
None of the local news reporters who covered this atrocity bothered to ask the noxious little sodomite who perpetrated it how he’d feel if somebody else lynched Obama in effigy on his front porch. They don’t have the guts.
Oh come on. Lighten up. It’s obviously all done in good humor. Like Kerry’s hope that the Secret Service would assassinate VP Quayle if Bush I were ever incapacitated; or the movie portraying Bush II’s assassination. And on, and on. Besides, everyone knows that words don’t influence people to commit violence. Except, as Clinton pointed out, in the case of Rush Limbaugh’s incitement to Timothy McVeigh in OK City.
Lighten up. They don’t really want Sarah dead.
Do they?

Can I hang Obama this Halloween? Or would that be a “hate crime”?
I don’t care to say anything inflammatory, but maybe I heard this occurred in a gay neighborhood or something. I mean the photo might make one wonder.
“Maybe we need a hanging chad....”

LMAO! I swear, I love this site! That’s twice I’ve spit coffee all over my screen! Dammit!
He was a friend of Reagan and a hell of a piano player.
Feeel the love.
Chad Michael Morrisette (who has Gov. Palin hanging in his yard) would seem to be saying it’s okay as long as it’s done in good fun.
These people are sick.
I did not know that there was a “Halloween exemption” for hate crimes. Now I know the rules, I am going to put a chain on the back of my vehicle with a fake hand with a sign that reads “What happened to your messiah?”
Mmyeah, Chad. I’m guessing that if somebody in WeHo hung up a mannequin dressed like Barack Obama...or, especially with Prop 8 on the ballot, Ellen DeGeneres or George Takei...you’d be somewhat less sanguine about those particular public figures being fair game.
I would think that this could be perceived as a veiled threat to the life of Gov. Palin and the Secret Service needs to act on it. If the “artiste” had sent a picture of this to Gov. Palin, I am sure it would have been interpreted as a legitimate threat.
Oh, yes!
He says “it should be seen as art, and as within the month of October. It’s Halloween, it’s time to be scary, it’s time to be spooky.”
Try calling 0bama spooky.
Funny, when an effigy of Obama (a cardboard cutout) was hung by a string on a tree, the Right just cringed and was outraged. But here, hanging a manequin of Sarah Palin just draws giggles from the left. Who wants that attitude in the WH?
I have doubts the Secret Service will accept "fun" as an explanation.
Imagine if it was a dummy of B. Obama or Michelle Obama? The MSM would be going crazy. Where is the outrage here?
