It will be like Soviet communism with some African instability thrown in. Think Odinga riots.

Welcome to the brave new Turd World.

While I agree that we have to do something about healthcare and health insurance and prescription costs for certain income groups (which we can’t afford to do for illegals)and something about the older boomers and older who didn’t provide for themselves in retirement (not illegal aliens who Obama wants to legalize), Europe and Canada are not the correct models to follow and it is especially not correct for those of us under 55 where even in a depression, we can earn far more on the market or those of us who are over 55 who may still work until mid 70’s since they are in better health and they have a chance to make it. I have been to both areas along with Africa and socialism is not the way to go, people are encouraged to do euthansia for certain ages and illnesses, the public hospitals and schools are so backed up that people go to India and Eastern Europe for healthcare since there is a two year wait on a dentist and many are jumping on the home school band wagon or other private schools since the public schools are shot. Belgium and France are so full of illegal aliens now that the taxes are so high to acommadate them all and you don’t see what these countries were originally. The things that make us unique was our rugged individualism and the fact we allowed the common man to go to be whatever she or he wanted instead of what was assigned to us as an occupation and the fact we kicked out a king over two hundred years ago. These fundamental things are what make us American and not European. The EU has gone too far and other than the environment, I am not willing to join them on anything and cheered the Irish on when they voted the EU down. Perhaps Bush went too far with his tax cuts in the wrong places and little government oversight but this started before this Bush but socialism and open borders is not the way too go. But then I am a Puma and this is what I have experienced. But I know that there is a compromise here that is cost effective but government nannycare for all is not the way to go. If it were, then why does India have a thriving medical tourism trade? I don’t want my children assigned careers either, I want them to have the right to choose their occumpation and I don’t think I should have to pay fo 12 million illegal aliens who gave our laws the middle finger and took American jobs just because their employer tried to save a buck and Mexico wants to pull a Cuba and export its undesirables. We can’t afford Mexico. Charity begins at home. Nothing wrong with Legal Immigrants (and many are getting screwed by illegal aliens too). But this issue with illegal aliens is probably the number one contributor to our economic woes and socialism is not the cureall either.

On the side of the people as they are volunteers and they know what the deal is. The fatal miscalculation of the left.

Hopefully they would uphold their oath to defend the U.S. Constitution. They would have to be well versed in it and the facts though.

They might have to be reminded of it. That actually should be the first step.

This is why one of the greatest faults of the Republican party has been the failure to return things like the school system back to the public sector.

The Republican party is dying because they lied to us repeatedly.

And the worst lie of all (because it overturned an election) was the failure to abolish the Department of Education, AFTER WE GAVE THEM A MANDATE TO DO SO.

We gave them all the power in the world in 1994. They lied about who they were, and what they would do.

Now, they're about to pay the price.

I agree. It won’t be just the soft oppression of the European welfare state, it will be aggressive oppression and suppression. And much of it probably will be carried out by mobs, in true African thugocracy style.

While European socialist countries are hideous and intrusive and stagnant, they are not usually built around a cult of personality (or at least, not since Hitler and Stalin). Obama’s model is the African “Great Leader” model, where the thug presents himself as the savior of the people, and then plays on tribal and other resentments to have the mob put and keep him in power. I never thought we’d sink to the level of Third World politics, and certainly I never thought it would happen so fast.

“A national Police force equal in strength and funding to the USMC, Army and Navy has been promised.”

When the inexperienced, purse-carrying metrosexual national police force starts killing the wives, husbands and children of the Marines, the Army and Navy, the non-combat experienced national police force will die by the hundreds of thousands and the cities where they live will become rubble.

There was a typo in the previous post. It should have read:

"This is why one of the greatest faults of the Republican party has been the failure to return things like the school system back to the private sector.

Basically, there has been a willingness to keep the giant machine in place, and just try to add conservative tweaks. That does not work because the nature of the machine is inherently socially liberal. Also, the machine is designed to be a make work program for bureaucrats. So, to survive, the conservative movement must return things like the public school system back to the competitive free enterprise system, which streamlines and improves itself out of pure survival instinct.

Civil War II is not as far out of the question as it may seem. Conservatives believe rightly that the Left wants to steal their property and give it to others who will vote for them. They are anti- American and racist in foreign and domestic policy. They will ruin this country and blame thr Right for the collapse. Where is the common ground?

You’re absolutely right, but the full positive effects of that would (at best) be a full generation away.

That’s why I was a bit disappointed during the VP debate when Sarahcuda made a very generic, wishy-washy mention of “having to fund education more.” Public education per capita in the U.S. is the highest in the world with little to show for it. How much more exciting and controversial it would have been had Sarah said something like “The same policy of economic freedom and competition that worked in my state of Alaska with regard to natural gas and oil production could work in ANY state with regard to education. Because I support individual freedom both economically and politically, I therefore support school vouchers and educational choice for parents.”

McCain did say something like that (much watered down but he made the point) in the 3rd debate with the obammunist, but Palin really should have made it; more memorable when she says things like that. By the way, I am assuming that she supports vouchers and freedom of educational choice, but I’ve not heard her say so explicitly.

The proof Obama is hiding is he is a citizen of Kenya.
