“Vichy Republicans”? This rhetoric seems a little over the top.
He didn’t invent the phrase. It’s been in use for several days now.
Lurk more.
I think it's perfect. Even better, few on the left will understand it because that would require knowledge of history.
“Vchy France, or the Vichy regime are the common terms used to describe the government of France from July 1940 to August 1944. This government, which succeeded the Third Republic, officially called itself the French State (L’État Français), in contrast with the previous designation, “French Republic.” Marshal Philippe Pétain proclaimed the government following the military defeat of France by Nazi Germany during World War II and the vote by the National Assembly on July 10, 1940. This vote granted extraordinary powers to Pétain, the last Président du Conseil (Prime Minister) of the Third Republic, who then took the additional title Chef de l’État Français (”Chief of the French State”). Pétain headed the reactionary program of the so-called “Révolution nationale”, aimed at “regenerating the Nation.”
Aimed at regenerating the Republic, there is coincidence and there is similarity...
To quote OmBiden: “That’s a joke, right?”
okay, I was going to bed until I read your post......here’s the reason Vichy is such an apt phrase..........The Vichy French were FRENCH COLLABORATORS WITH THE ENEMY....and these scum bags are REPUBLICAN COLLABORATORS WITH THE ENEMY.........and Liberal Democrats ARE THE ENEMY....not opponents but ENEMIES OF AMERICAN LIBERTY......yes, it has come to that....GOD HELP US ALL.
Maybe "useful idiots" then?
I think its spot on.
These turncoats deserve to be blasted in the strongest language possible. I have much more colorful names for them, but I don’t wish to be banned here.
I don't. "You're either with us, or against us" in the face of the Marxist revolution from within!
Very little compared to "Quisling Republicans!" :-D
How about "Cheese-eating Surrendercrats?" Or "Jean-Luc Republicans?" :-)
Yeah, I still like to refer to these scumbags as... well, scumbags.
