Help needed identifying Vichy Republicans.
Self | Self

I've had enough, after watching Gerry Rivers of all people, an inveterate Obama fan, throw dirt on McCain/Palin, I think the list of traiterous Republicans otherwise known as Vichy Republicans should be assembled before the election.

okay, I was going to bed until I read your post......here’s the reason Vichy is such an apt phrase..........The Vichy French were FRENCH COLLABORATORS WITH THE ENEMY....and these scum bags are REPUBLICAN COLLABORATORS WITH THE ENEMY.........and Liberal Democrats ARE THE ENEMY....not opponents but ENEMIES OF AMERICAN LIBERTY......yes, it has come to that....GOD HELP US ALL.

They are Sans-Culotte, all have linkable statements or endorsements, this is not merely “outrage and hate” this is keeping track of who said what, and their rationales for doing so.

I know exactly what the Vichy government was, and I think it's inappropriate to compare abandonment of one's party to treason against one's country. Leaders of the Vichy government were vile traitors, and deserved execution. Even total rejection of the Republican party wouldn't come close to this level.

Ronald Reagan, Teddy Roosevelt, and Joe Lieberman all rejected their parties. Are they traitors?

They have similar rationales, only this time, there is no one threatening to use force against our Vichy Republicans, they are doing it themselves.

I think Smerconish made no bones about being a Democrat Norman Bates, nothing wrong with partisanship, nothing wrong with skepticism, there is something very very wrong about attacking and smearing and betrayal.

Ehh...I’m a bit hesitant to add Joe S to the list, from what I’ve seen, he has been reasonably fair, and has not went out of his way to smear.

If you have a link to an article or a youtube video, I’d be more then happy to add him to the Collaborators list!

While I agree with you about a change in party affiliation not being sufficient to support a charge of treason, it is treasonous to reject the Constitution as so many have done. Both Republicans and Democrats have failed to support the document to which they pledge their obedience. Treason is a strong accusation but I think that there are those within our midst who deserve the charge.

I prefer Vichy republicans, enemies list is old and has been used so many times that it isn’t fresh, besides I never liked the label.

The worst part is that it ignores that these people are traitors and have never been committed to conservative America.

The funny thing about the Republican Party. It was always the liberal party from its birth.

The first conservative Republican nominated was Goldwater, by a whisker. The first (and only) conservative Republican President was Reagan.

Republicans were always the liberals until recently.

It's a good idea to compile this list. Win or lose, we need to remember who these people showed themselves to be.

“I prefer Vichy Republicans...”

Well, the thing of it is, these are NOT enemies per se, they made choices for Obama and AGAINST McCain or Palin.

The Vichy did not even have the common courtesy to at least be silent, or neutral, they all have went out of their way to harm either McCain or Palin.

In the words of New Media Journal:

“David Brooks awaits his Democrat Overlords”

And that is what the Vichy are all about, they won’t fight, they will surrender and try and cut a side deal.
