To our friendly monitors over at the Obama campaign:
Barack Obama has now officially refused to provide his original birth certificate.
Whatever he released to your "Fight the Smears" website is not relevant. It is suspicious at best.
It's so simple. Just release the original long form birth certificate that shows the country, hospital, date, time, and doctor that delivered him.
Why is this such a threatening prospect for Mr. Obama?
He is incapable of resolving the most basic of all requirements to put to rest this question of his constitional eligibility.
How does it feel to have thrown your precious time in support of a candidate who is incapable of what would be the smallest of all formalities, such a simple, nondescript act of goodwill to the citizens of America?
If he cannot perform this simple act of service, then why and how could you ever believe that would ever care uphold our Constitution for all Americans?
Where's the "transparency"?
If you by some chance also arrive at the same conclusion that millions of other Americans have - that providing your original birth certificate is not an unreasonable request, than feel free to pass these comments along to Mr. Obama. I'm sure he'll understand.
If you apply for any job in the Federal government, you have to provide two forms of valid ID, the I-9 form. Why can’t he provide similar information?

Because Sen. McCain has been so very open with his birth certificate and health records. Would that Sen. Obama had been so open and timely, the accusation of his ineligibility would never have gained momentum.
If Sen. Obama was hoping to crush the momentum with a fantastic display of “presto! here it is, not a fake, completely original...HA HA!” then his potential employer (the American people) will wonder, “Well why the hell didn't you provide this in the first place? What took you so long to deliver? What was more important than providing evidence to your employer that you meet the minimum for the job? Your competitor has been very forthcoming with ALL of our questions; so, why haven't you?”

Because it would be better for the country if Obama is defeated by the voters instead of the courts.
Dont forget the image Gore drew to himself when he
tried to use the courts against the “will of the people”.
If McCain has to, he will use this... but he has to do it in a way that protects the institution of free and fair elections.
McCain will not use this unless he can prove that the will of the people was subverted.
